True Feelings

POV Alex

“Alex?” I heard someone call. I quickly sat up in my bed and looked around the room for the speaker. I saw a blurry figure and rubbed my eyes making my vision clear. Blaze was standing at the end of my bed watching me.

“What the hell do you want?” I said “It’s two in the dam morning!”

“Actually its eleven in the morning” he chuckled, making my stomach turn I brushed that feeling off soon. “I came to wake you up and talk to you”

“Well I am up, what do you need to talk to me about”

“I need you listen very carefully and not jump to conclusions” 

“I’ll try” I said choosing my words carefully.

“You know how I feel about you, right” he asked and I nodded. “I want you to look deep down inside and tell me that you don’t fell the same.”

I stared at him for a moment then opened my mouth to say no, but nothing came out. I searched a little longer for the answer as Blaze watched me.

“You do feel something for” he breathed “don’t you?”

I nodded a little and Blaze looked down at his hands.

“It doesn’t change anything, does it” Blaze asked with his head still bowed. I stayed quiet again, feeling paralyzed.

“Before you become immortal think about that sliver of feeling you have for me” Blaze said. I nodded.

The next moment was a blur. Blaze sat on my bed beside me and kissed me softly, I kissed him back. I never should have, but I did and when I did all the feeling I had for Jason seemed to disappear for a slit second. I pulled away and looked down at my hands. I lift my head for a moment to see a smile upon Blaze’s face.

“Think about what I said” was all he said before leaving me alone and breathless.

Still shaken by my awakening, I set out for the meeting at noon. Everyone was in the meeting room but luckily I wasn’t the last one in like the last time I was here. I sat beside Jason again but was thinking of Blaze. Maybe the thing Jason and I have is just fake, it happened so fast and I only started liking him after he pulled me head first into this world. My thoughts were interrupted by William.

“We all know Alex’s change date is coming fast” there were murmurs of agreement. “Alex I was wondering who you would like in the room when you change”

“Dolly, Jason and…: I hesitated a minute before announcing “Blaze”

There were looks of shock and gasps of surprise from multiple people. Blaze grinned when he heard his name come out of my mouth. Jason on the other hand, turned red.

“Can I talk to you in the hall for a moment” asked Jason and I nodded. I followed him out to the hall.

“I know you are just trying to make me mad” he said.

“I am not” I hissed but at him.

“Then why else would you want Blaze, of all people there?” he asked.

“Because he isn’t all that bad” I yelled. “Why are you being so controlling?”

“I am trying to protect you”

“You are just making me angry!” I yelled.

“I’m sorry!” he half yelled. “I just don’t want him to hurt you”

“I know but you got to let me live my own life too” I whispered. “I have already lost my normal life. I don’t want to loose you to”

“Okay” he sighed. “I don’t like you hanging out with him still, but I won’t make another scene.”

“Thank you” I whispered before kissing him. We walked hand in hand but into the room.

“Okay” said William as we walked back in. “Is there anyone else?”

“Fee and you” I said as I took my seat.

“Okay” he said, Fee nodded. “The counsel has some other stuff to talk about so if the protectors and prophecies would excuse themselves.”

We all walked out and I pulled Dolly away from Mark.

“I was wondering if I will still have powers when I become immortal” I asked her.

“You should” she said. “You powers are in you soul Alex, they won’t just get up and walk away.”

“Thanks for everything Dolly” I said, she nodded and went to catch up with Mark. I walked back to the rec room and hung out with everyone there for the rest of the day.
