Chapter 2

A few days before my 18th birthday

I read a werewolf book on my phone while I waited for my best friend Kacey so we can go to school. Today is the first week back after the summer holidays.. and my birthday is in a few days!
I'm going to be so old rip

"Hey Harps!" Kacey jumps at me excited
"Hey Kas" I mock her excitement
She pauses and her excitement vanishs
"Why do you have to be like this?" She crosses her arms
"Cuz it's fun to mock you" I smirk and start walking to school, she catches up with me and we start to walk faster otherwise we'd be late for the first day back

We got to school and realised we had like 5 minutes to get to class before we get our asses whooped by the teacher so we started running.. I looked behind me to see how close Kacey was to me but I soon felt a hard surface hit my face stopping me quite suddenly. I put my hand to the cheek that hit the hard ass chest of someone, which turns out to be Jeon Jungkook, one of the most popular boys in this school probably the whole town not gonna lie.. who is dating, surprise surprise, the most popular girl in school called Jiyun.. she's nice to everyone.. popular. But if you are 'lower' than her she pretends to be nice in front of all the populars.. but soon becomes a devil when none of them are around.

"S-sorry" I say looking up at the god in front of me
He just growls and walks away
I look at him leaving in surprise then I turn to Kacey

"Did he just fucking growl at me?" I look at her confused which earns an unsure nod from her

"What is he? A werewolf?" I ask while we walk the rest of the way to first period trying to avoid any other accidents

We get into class and everyone turns to us making us even more awkward..

"We're sorry we're late" I say shyly to our teacher and make our way to our seats

"It's alright, but just because I was explaining the new school rules to everyone before you barged in.. you have an after school" he says as if it's nothing

"WHAT?!" Both me and Kacey spin around shocked to look at our teacher and see if he's joking for the first time in his life, but nope nothing.

"Yes, the new rules also now says if you are 5 or more minutes late to your precious education time, you get an after school" he calmly says

"But we didn't know that!" Kacey tries for an excuse

"Well you would've if you were here on time!"

"Touché" Kacey sighs

"Besides it's only half an hour for now.. anyway turn to page 173" he continues

I get my books out and start trying to focus.. first days back aren't the easiest days. I started writing when the door shuts loudly making me jump and then embarrassed cuz it scared no one else. I look up and see Jungkook walking in half way through the lesson, he starts walking to his seat which is diagonal to me.. I look at him while he walks down the aisle as if he's on a catwalk. He catches me and a small smile appears on the corner of his lips before the teacher calls his name.. he doesn't turn around just waits for the question to be asked

"Where the hell have you been Jeon Jungkook?!" our teacher tries his best to stay professional

Jungkook rolls his eyes and turns around

"I-" But he gets cut off

"You know what.. don't even tell me your rubbish excuse just sit down"
He shrugged his shoulders and sat down

"Oh and you have an after school for an hour for showing up VERY late to my lesson" the teacher adds

Jungkook groans and throws his head back and leans back on his chair.. I didn't even know I was staring at him until he opened his eyes and looked at me, he winked and being the awkward person I am I bit my lip trying not to go red and grabbed my pen pretending I'm working but not knowing a word to write.

It is now after school and I am making my way to my detention along with Kacey.. we knock on the door and walk in seeing 3 other people there along with Jungkook. We find two empty seats which could have been anywhere to be honest, so we sat two tables away from Jungkook. I could feel his eyes on me while I walked over to my seat with Kacey, but I tried to ignore it. I sat down and put my head on the table with my arms covering my face.. I turned my face to see what the time was now and only 5 minutes have gone passed when atleast 29 minutes should have, sheesh. Then my eyes wonder down to Jungkook who was staring at me, I was hoping he'd stop but he just stared back into my eyes.

"Stop" I mouthed to him
"Stop what?" He shrugged
"Staring" I mouthed back
"Staring at what?" He asked annoyingly
"Whatever" I roll my eyes and turn my head back into my arms which he gives a little chuckle to.. my heart flutters this is the first time he has talked to me in ages.

Our half an hour is done so me and Kacey get up and leave the room.. we walked out the school and started on the path that would take us home but then I got a text from my mum saying she's going to pick me up so I said goodbye to Kacey and waited for her to come.

After a few minutes, I felt a little pat on my shoulder so I turn around

"What are you doing here?" I asked Jungkook
"Do you want me to take you home?" He asks
"I thought you still had half an hour left?" I say
"I do, but I can come back later"
"That's not how that works Jungkook" I laugh
"Just get in the car Harper"
Did he just say my name? Wow I'm surprised he remembered it.

I sigh and text my mum saying I'm getting a lift so she doesn't need to come and make my way to Jungkook. I get into the car and put on my seat belt. I tell him where I live and he starts driving. I didn't really know what to say so I just looked at him from the corner of my eyes. He had his sleeves slightly rolled up revealing his veins and muscles that were flexing while he had his hands on the steering wheel.

"Stop staring at me" He says without taking his eyes off the road

"What? I wasn't staring!" I say and look out my window

"Mhm course you weren't" he chuckles

"Anyway thanks for taking me home, but you didn't have to" I blush trying to change the subject

"It's fine, as long as your safe" he says as he drives up to my house
The hell does that mean?

"Well, I guess see you at school" I say and get out the car, I can feel his intense stare on me while I unlock the door and get inside. I look out the window seeing him drive off.

Why is he talking to me all of a sudden now?
