Chapter 3

I go into school today with Kacey, getting a few happy birthdays from people, even from people I didn't know

I just smiled and said thank you to everyone. I was thinking of what I should do for my 18th birthday. When Kacey stopped me as if reading my mind.

"After school I'm taking you out, to this place where it's not a club. It's like a restaurant but has a dance floor? And we're going with Jason and Caleb" she winked. Kacey has had a crush on Caleb since forever, and now she's bringing him and his friend along that has a crush on me but I don't see him in that way.

"Hellooo" Kacey waved her hand in front of my face impatiently

"Oh sorry.. hm do they really have to come? Why can't it just be us two?" I try to persuade her that I'm okay with just spending the night with her

"But then I cant talk to Caleb!" She whined

"And maybe if you actually spend some time with Jason you might actually like him!" She squealed

Kill me

I rolled my eyes "Okay fine whatever" she starts jumping

Why am I friends with her?

We make our way to our classroom and sit down in our seats

"Today I will be pairing you up with another student to complete a History powerpoint" our teacher starts as he gets into the class not wanting to waste more time

"I'm going to pair up Kacey with Jiyun, Simon with Luisse, Millie with Ollie, Harper with Jungkook, hyunjin with Samira..." I teamed up hearing him pair me up with Jungkook. As if that car ride wasn't bad enough, now I have to spend time with him to make the powerpoint. I look at Kacey who had gotten up to move next to Jiyun, I gave her pleading eyes not to leave me. She just gave an apologetic smile and walked towards Jiyun

She's so dead

I glared at her, even if she didn't have a choice I don't care. She left me with Jungkook for fucks sake

I looked towards Jiyun who was shooting daggers at me with her eyes. Oh right, cuz I'm paired up with her boyfriend, actually end me.
I looked over to Jungkook seeing him smirking at me but soon turned around to pack his stuff

"Sir can I change pairs with Harper?" Jiyun got up from her seat

Yes please

"No sit down miss otherwise you will get into big trouble" our teacher snapped back

"Fine but Jungkook, meet me after class" she winked and sat down

I rolled my eyes and looked down so I don't catch Jungkook's gaze when he walks over and sits down next to me. His arm brushed against mine and sparks are sent throughout my body. What the hell is this?

I look up at him confused but he just looks down to where are arms brushed against eachother just as confused as me. He looks up at me with wide eyes. I swear for a second his eyes turn silver, but he quickly looks away and keeps his distance from me the whole lesson. What was that all about?

After school I went to Kacey's house to get ready as she has the most clothes out of us two.

I wore a black dress that stuck to the right parts of my body and I let my long dark brown hair flow down over my shoulder down to my mid arms. I put on light makeup and texted my parents that we were about to leave.

We went to the place Kacey had told me about and we met two nicely dressed boys smiling at us. This is going to be one awkward night.

"Hi Caleb!" Kacey said excitement evident in her voice

"Hey, Jason" I put on the best smile I can

"Hi Harper you look beautiful tonight" he smiles at me and looks down at my dress making me even more awkward

Jason was wearing an ordinary black suit, with his wavy hair framing his face and his eyes -oh boy his eyes- that were a slight yellow hazel with a red tint in certain lights, mesmerising.

"Thank you, you don't look bad either" I say and turn to the others

"Let's go inside" I tell them and they nod their heads

We make our way inside and to our table, I try not to make too much eye contact with Jason because frankly I don't like him the way he likes me. But how can I tell him that without hurting his feelings?

We sit down, Caleb near the wall and Kacey next to him. And Jason in front of Caleb while I sit awkwardly in front of Kacey. We ordered our food and as Kacey started talking with Caleb, both Jason and I were sitting there awkwardly not knowing what to say.

I look towards the door to help me get less awkward as some other people walk in. That turn out to be Jiyun and Jungkook. This night could not be any more perfect. He walks past our table and gives me a slight smirk, but his smirk soon turns into an angry stare at Jason. Their table was two tables diagonal to us so I can see him and Jiyun clearly from where I'm sitting.

"Right Harper?" Kacey looks at me

"Hm?" I say realising she has been talking about me

"It is your 18th birthday today isn't it?" She repeated

"Oh yeah, it is" I smile at Jason and Caleb

"You should have told us! We would have bought something for you!" Caleb said

"Yeah, we thought this as just a get together I guess." Jason said getting closer to me making me tense up

"No it's fine honestly" I smile

Soon after Kacey and Caleb start talking again while Jason nodded. He slowly got closer to me and put his arm around me pulling me closer to him. I started to tense up even more. So I looked the opposite direction to get my face away from his, when my eyes landed on a very pissed off Jungkook. He was holding a spoon which now was bent. I shake my head and turn to Kacey.

"I'm going to the restroom, I'll be right back" I say and get up without giving them a chance to answer me back.

I get inside the bathroom and lock the door. I look at myself in the mirror. How the hell am I going to go back out there? What am I going to-
Someone knocked on the door

"I'll be out in a second!" I shout

"Harper get out now!" I hear Jungkook say in a deep yet scary tone which made me freeze

"Harper" he growled which snapped me back to reality

I walked up to the door and unlocked it, he pulled the door open and my eyes met his now silver eyes

"Get in the car" a deeper voice that came from him demanded

"But I can't leave Kacey-" I tried

"Harper. Car. Now" he clenched his fists

I started to panic but for some reason I did as I was told. On the way to his car I texted Kacey saying that it was an emergency.

I put on my seatbelt as Jungkook got in. And he started to drive

Where is he taking me?
