Chapter 22

"So your telling me that you already knew?" I say after a while of being quite to process that they already knew

"Well yes" My mum says fidgeting with her cup

"How long for?" I slightly whispered

"For a while now.." My dad looked at me while examining my face

"And you never thought of telling me?" I could feel a bit of anger rising inside of me

how could they hide something this important from me?

"Did you ever plan on telling me?!"

"Well.." I could tell my mums throat was dry by now

"We didn't plan on telling you.. because we thought the safer you'd be if you didn't know about something that could hurt you and the people around you" My dad spoke instead of my mum

"We were scared of what might have happened if we told you about this, we knew that eventually you would find out.. but we thought you'd find out from us" My mum continued while her index finger traced round the rim of her cup

"But.. why would you think it was better if I didn't know? Surely the sooner I knew the sooner I could learn about it and use it do defend myself?" I sounded logical to myself but turns out my parents already thought of that

"Well, that's what we thought at first. But we thought you might hurt someone in public by accident as you'd still be learning.. and then the word would get around and some people that could use this against you would hear of it.." My mum rambled and slowly got quieter near the end of her sentence

"I.. I understand what you're trying to say. But I still wish you somehow told me about this." I look down

I understand what they were trying to do.. but what if I knew earlier?

"I need to go to sleep, I have school tomorrow. Night I love you both" I say as I get up and walk upstairs slowly

I drop my body onto my bed and take a deep breathe. I need to look normal tomorrow, my eyes soon shut and I get consumed by the darkness.

My stupidly loud alarm wakes me back into the real world. I groan and make my way into the bathroom

"Fuck" I stubbed my toe and grabbed it

I limped my way into the bathroom and got ready afterwards. I put on a pair of dark blue jeans, with a black turtleneck and white shoes. I made my way downstairs and into the kitchen where my parents were acting as if nothing happened.

I sat down and had breakfast as usual and waited at the front of my house for Kacey

"It's 7:50, she's always late what do I expect" I laugh

I notice two guys walk past the front of the house, staring at me for a few seconds too long and it made me very uncomfortable. I tried to ignore it so I just looked down at my phone scrolling through my home page over and over again, but they didn't need to know that.

At 7:55 Kacey pulls up in front of the house and honks, waving at me frantically. I get in embarrassed by her "Hey Kace, you ready for school?" I put on my seat belt

"Never been more ready, plus Jungkooks gonna be there" She looked at me and winked

"Oh shut up and just step on the gas already" I blushed but she did as I said and we soon got to school

As soon as we get in, we both get glares from Jiyun.

"Do you know why Jungkook hasn't been answering me for the last few days?" She crosses her arms and looks at us in disgust

"No, neither of us do" Kacey says

"Yeah why would you anyways, you're too ugly for J-" Jiyun tried

"Look Jiyun we don't have time for your shit anymore so just stop trying" I glare at her and drag me and Kacey out of there. We see Jungkook walking towards Jiyun because they're still dating, but we both ignore him leaving as him confused as ever

We had Science first and we have tables of threes. It was me and Kacey but today there was a new girl that our teacher sat at our table.

"Hello what's your name?" I asked her

"M-my names Charlotte.." She says shyly

"Hi Charlotte! My names Kacey and this is the most annoying person in this world called Harper" she points at me and sighs

"Hey no I'm not! Nothing compared to you!" I say maybe a little too loudly

"Harper please be quite and pay attention" Out science teacher snaps at me

"Sorry Miss, it won't happen again" I say shyly

Making both Charlotte and Kacey laugh

"She also has the biggest mood swings, she can go from being loud to quite as fuck" She whispers

"Shut up, this is bullying" I roll my eyes

"Noted" says Charlotte giggling

From then on Charlotte hung out with us and became a new member making our duo into a trio.

Next period we had History, honestly so fun. I asked to go to the bathroom and our teacher let me. But just after I got in there the fire alarm went off. I thought it was another fake one that they have randomly throughout the year. But I was wrong, as I got outside smoke had filled the building. I pulled on my sleeve as much as I could, and put my hand over my mouth to stop breathing in too much smoke. I started running towards the exit but something or someone hit my body really hard that I smashed into the lockers and fell onto the ground. I looked up at the person but they were wearing a mask. They bent down and whispered to me

"It's not over yet" Then gave off a slow evil-ish laugh and bent down to grab my chin "Just you wait.. no ones gonna get in my way.. no one" then got up and walked out.

I got up a few seconds later and tried to not think much about it atleast until I got out of there. I ran towards the fire exit that the others probably went through and found myself outside at the front of the school with most of the students.
