Chapter 23

I searched for Kacey and found her eventually with Charlotte. I ran up to her and hugged her

"I'm so glad you're okay! Why do you have to go to the toilet at the worst times?!" She says

"I'm sorry! I didn't know that a fire was gonna happen did I?" I try not to laugh as Kacey's mum mode kicks in

"Kacey chill a little, atleast she's okay" Charlotte says trying to calm Kacey down.

Charlotte actually talks a lot when you are friends with her, I guess she's comfortable around us now which is nice!

"Fine but just this time" She smiles

We started to walk towards the othe students as teachers were trying to call everyone down and make sure everyone's there.
As I lined up I couldn't forget what happened to me inside before I got out.. who was that? What did they mean? Why the hell did they push me so hard?
I run my hand across my side where I got my body slammed into lockers, my side tingled in pain; I winced and looked the other way seeing Jungkook staring at me as if trying to ask what's wrong. I just ignored him and looked the other way.

After about 20 minutes of teachers taking the register twice, we couldn't really go back into the school because this wasn't a false alarm, this was a proper fire this time and the firefighters were still trying to stop the fire fully. So we got the day off and decided to go to the lake and sit and talk for a bit. Turns out Kacey invited the boys so they came out of nowhere and sat down smiling, I introduced them to Charlotte and then all 10 of us just sat there talking. I didn't pay much attention to Jungkook even though he was trying to catch my attention.

I was starting to forget about the pain that hadn't fully disappeared on my side, but I didn't let it ruin my evening. Until everyone wanted to go into the water to relax a little more and have fun.

"Let's go!" Kacey said taking her clothes off

"I-I think I'll sit this one out haha" I try to get out of it smoothly but everyone stopped and gave me a weird look

"Oh come on harps! It'll be fun" Kacey said trying to drag me but when she grabbed my arm, she had to grab the arm I got shoved on. I flinched away from her and grabbed my arm, she paused and looked at me worried.
Damn my reflexes
I have a small giggle," I'm just not in the mood today"

Kacey and Charlotte stob infringe of me, hiding me from the boys views.

"Harper are you sure your okay?" She says grabbing me from the top half of my arms and start rubbing them to comfort me but I flinch away again. She slowly lifts my sleev up and sees that it's bruised. Both Charlotte and Kacey gasp making the boys turn to us looking alarmed.

"Just.. don't make a scene and I'll tell you both later, for now act normal okay?" I whisper and both of them nod at the same time

"Oh why didn't you tell me you wer on your period? Okay maybe don't come into the water this time" Kacey says aloud so the boys aren't suspicious

"I'll stay here with her Kacey you go and have fun" Charlotte says to Kacey, she nods and turns away from us.

I watched as eveyone ran into the water apart from one, Jungkook. He didn't seem to believe what Kacey had said. He was looking at me intensely but I nodded at him and then the lake, he rolled his eyes and went in aswell.

Charlotte and I just sat down on the grass eating while watching the others splash eachother in the water. I smiled as I saw Taehyung and Kacey getting closer to eachother as friends, and we'll.. physically to hehe

My phone started to vibrate and it turns out it was my mu calling me

"Hey mum, what's up?"

"Not much but where are you? I heard about the fire, are you okay? Are you safe?" She says as panic starts to rise in her voice

"Yes mum don't worry, sorry I forgot to call you but I'm at the lake with everyone." I reassure her

"Oh okay, can you come home now though?"

"Yeah sure I'm on my way now, bye" I hang up

"Guys I have to go home now, my mums worried" I say as I get up

"Okay I'll take yo-" Kacey got cut off

"I'll take her" Jungkook said

I stopped in my tracks, "But Kacey said she'll take me" I crossed my arms

"Oh..um sorry Harps I forgot that I have to take Charlotte back home, and I can't be asked to make two stops" She says scratching the back of her head

I look at Charlotte and she says mischievously, "Yeah sorry Harper but I guess Jungkook's gonna have to take you, wait that's his name right?" Jungkook gives a low chuckle and nods

"Ugh fine whatever, let's go"
beofre I turn around I glare at Kacey and she blows me a kiss then I turn to Charlotte, "I'll get you back for this just you wait" I whisper, she just throws to hold in her laugh as she waves at me

"Bye you guys!" Everyone shouts at the same time, making me glare at them all

When I tell you it was the most awkwardest walk to the car, I mean that shit.. it was beyond awkward. Not one word was spoken, and he seemed fine but I was so awkward.

We got into the car and as we both got our seatbelts on and he started the car, that's when the first conversation began.

"So you're never gonna talk to me now?" Was Jungkooks first words to me

"I mean I don't know we'll see how it plays out" I ss looking out the window

"But-"

"Look Jungkook I have nothing against you, but I'm still kinda mad at you. I don't wanna be with someone that only likes me now that you know I'm a werewolf. What happened to it 'i dOnT wAnT a WeAk mAtE'?? Guess what? That hurt, you judged me just from the word human, and now that I'm not you want me?" I tutted and we didn't speak the whole way home

He parked outside my house, before I got out he grabbed my arm and pulled me back in my seat

"What was that bruise on your arm? You didn't have it yesterday" He looked at my arm

"Oh nothing, I just fell out my bed and landed on my laptop and it kinda left a mark" I was proud of that not gonna lie. Buttt he didn't believe me

"Yeah okay that's definitely what happened. Just tell me what happened?"

"It's nothing, and yeah that did happen. Thanks for the ride, goodbye Jungkook" I gently yanked my arm from him and got out the car. I didn't look behind me once. I stepped inside, locked the door and heard him zoom off.
