Chapter 30

We both walk down to everyone else quite awkwardly not gonna lie. But we soon relax after we take our seat and stuff our faces with food.

"So I've been doing some research on werewolves in general" Namjoon began talking with his mouth half full.

He looked up and after he knew he had everyone's attention he carried on, "Does anyone remember what colour Harper's wolf was?" he said while he carried on eating.

Everyone darts their eyes to Jungkook, seeing him deep in thought, "I think I do, she had white fur with light grey-ish ends. With blue eyes that were brown in the middle." Namjoon started choking after Jungkook finished speaking.

"Wait.." He stands up and leaves the room.
We all glance to each other confused, before he returns again but with a book.

"Okay so I read.." he drags the last word while he searches for what he's looking for.

"Aha.." he says as he trails his fingers across the page.

"Okay so in baby language, Harper is a rare wolf-" some people gasp.

"Oh that's not the shocking part" Namjoon chuckles

"She's the wolf" he says looking up hoping someone got the hint, after a few seconds the boys get it and dart their eyes at me, the girls and I confused as hell.

"N-no way.." Hoseok whispers

"It makes sense though, the way we all submitted to her before.." Tae responds

"Can someone explain in human baby language please" Kacey sighs

"Okay basically, there was this legend. About the Moon Goddess. A few hundred years ago when her and her mate were alive. Everyone lived peacefully and happily. Until one day, this one specific wolf that no one had seen before came into the kingdom. His name was Erebus. Everywhere he walked, he caused chaos, sadness, fear, hatred. He turned everyone against one another. He came to warn the Goddess, that her reign will be no more." Namjoon paused to allow the information to sink in before carrying on.

"At that time, the Goddess was a month or two into her pregnancy. Her mate and her were on edge as Erebus never actually said when exactly her rein would end. Meanwhile, Erebus was forming an army, an army that would fight against the Goddess and her supporters. He was a great manipulator, he even turned some supporters against her. Soon, he attacked the kingdom. Fire everywhere, the screams of innocent people echoed off the walls. The Goddess and her mate fought along side every other wolf. But Erebus was too strong. The Goddess was forced by her mate to get inside a safe room and protect herself and the baby. She obeyed eventually and left with her maid, for the highest and safest room in the castle. She locked the doors and spelled magic on them. She soon felt a pang at her heart, as if half has been ripped off. She knew what that meant. She had lost her mate. She broke down in loud and painful tears, her sadness caused the earth to shake. She could feel Erebus getting closer. She got ready to fight and so she did. She fought with every last bit of her strength but it was no use. Erebus was stronger. She mustered up the last bit of her strength and casted her baby away from her and into someone else's DNA, meaning it was in their family line although the baby wouldn't be born for a long time, just to secure its safety. After that day, the ruins of the castle haven't been visited, not even once." Namjoon sighs and everyone looks down in sadness.

"But there has been a rumour going round for a couple of decades.." Namjoon continued causing everyone to look up eagerly.

"That soon the child of the Moon Goddess and her mate will rise, and end Erebus and his ruling. Harper.." Namjoon looks at me

"Your fur colour and eye colour is a mix of the Moon Goddess and her mate, and your strong and dominant yet sweet and gentle aura compliments that." Namjoon says softly.

"What are you saying exactly?" Yoongi says, wanting to hear the exact words that everyone is thinking of at this moment, come out of his mouth.

"Harper, you are the child of the Moon Goddess."

My jaw drops open.

"N-no.. this cant be.."

"That's why your wolf didn't come out till recently, as your biological parents wanted to keep you safe, so they hid a part of you.. which doesn't sound the best the way I worded it but what they did was for the best" Namjoon continues softly.

"Hold up, what if the supporters of Erebus find out that the Moon Goddess' child is still alive?.." Hobi questioned cautiously.

"Umm.. Then I guess they would come and try to kill her.."

"Uhhh thanks for breaking that to me softly" I give a light and short chuckle before tensing up.
I felt a hand on my thigh and a pair of dough eyes staring intently at me.
"We won't let that happen.. I won't let that happen. No ones hurting you" Jungkook said reassuringly with everyone else nodding in agreement, which slightly relaxes me.

"Plus we don't know if anyone knows yet, so who knows maybe we can keep this a secret for a while, maybe even forever. If your mother could keep you a secret for a few hundred years, I'm sure you can for a human life time" Jin says, slightly getting quieter near the end, not sure if he actually agrees with his own words.

"I doubt that, Erebus has probably already sensed her presence. Or the presence of something not negative" Namjoon shakes his head at Jins statement.

"Well in that case, we're gonna help Harper and her friends have a normal life, as well as preparing them for if a fight between light and darkness happens" Jimin says seriously.

"Yeah sounds like a good plan, actually" Yoongi says.

"Don't worry you don't have to take part in this if you don't want to it's understandable" Tae says looking at Charlotte and Kacey.

"Oh hell no, we're in this together. I'm not leaving Harps now after all she's been through" Kacey says and Charlotte agrees.

"All that she's been through?" Jungkook's head snaps up at Kacey then to me.

"That's a different story for another time" I shake my head and try to think of a different subject.

"Alright then, all our lifestyles are going to change from now on" Namjoon says before slamming the book shut.
