Elijah leaned against the balcony walls as he stared ahead of him, into the dark forest, looking for a sign of attack but nothing was showing.
Any type of movement.
His anger wasn't calming down, it was just piling and piling up and he knew he wouldn't be able to control what his action will be.
Leaving on the stone balcony, he huffed.
"Elijah,"
A soft voice called out his name.
Snapping his head around, his eyes laid on his mate, her brown locks laid on her shoulders and down against her back. Her bright brown eyes stared at him with a look that he never wanted her to have on her face.
Especially when it came to this.
She wore a white lace gown with a red robe throw over as the chilly wind made its way throughout the castle tonight.
"Evelyn,"
Walking over to her, he took her into his arms. His hand laid on the back of her head, the other wrapped around her body as he held her close to his.
He could feel the fear through the mate bond and it made him just want to stop this all together but he knew it was already too late.
It's been done.
"Please, we can figure out a way, maybe she'll listen and come to a treaty," She announced to him before pulling her head off his chest and staring up at him, tears breaming in her eyes already. "I can't lose you,".
He sighed and placed both of his hands on either side of her face. Placing their foreheads together, he took in a deep breath.
"Believe me when I say this. I would stop this if I could, but it's already been done. She wouldn't listen, she never will and for that, she needs to learn," he exhales and opens his eyes to see tears falling down her face already.
Wiping them away, she opened her eyes to stare into his blue ones.
"You won't lose me,".
