Chapter Sixteen
-&-

December the month of Christmas, the month of baby Jesus the month of the best food to ever be made in the history of time.

Now that is my opinion but I do believe that many other people will agree with me on this.

Sadly, it's not December just yet, we've got one more week but still, November still has a feeling of Christmas too me.

One of those being is that the town is freezing cold, I can only imagine how cold it would be during the real Christmas period.

Walking beside Veronica as we crossed the road, she was talking about her boyfriend, felix. He was on this retreat with a couple of his other friends and she was missing him.

Placing my hands in my coat pockets, I putted my coat closed. Thank god it was long and big.

"I just can't wait until two weeks when he is back," She groaned and grabbed me. "Don't you just wish to always be with the one you love?" she questioned.

We stopped walking once hitting the town square.

Looking at her, my heart fell to my stomach. I haven't been in love before, how would I even begin to think what that would feel.

I opened my mouth to speak when a familiar voice spoke up.

"Evelyn, Veronica,".

Standing there was Erin who smiling big as us and making her way over to us.

"Its good to see you," she said opening her arms. I quickly responded and brung my hands from my pockets and hugged her back. I was a little taken back but it was fine.

She then hugged Veronica.

"Almost Christmas, what have you got planned for it?" she asked us.

Looking at Veronica who began talking. "Well I have a month of nothing but relaxing. Professor's are really laid back this semester so I'm happy," she explained, the smile on her mouth grew the further the conversation got.

My professors are doing the complete opposite, I have a lot of work to do and on top of that I want to find more.

"That's great," Erin replied back before looking at me. "How about you Evelyn?".

"Um," I paused. "Not much, just school work. I'm thinking about getting a job somewhere, breaking up my day,".

"A job?" Veronica said.

I nodded and placed my hands back in my pocket and hugged myself. "Yeah, it's lonely at home sometimes so might as well break the day up,".

"Oh your all alone?" Erin said, sounding concerned and worried for me.

I smiled. "Well it's just me and my mom who travels out of town a lot now so yeah, it's kind of me alone at home most of the time,".

Erin's once smile dropped and was replaced with a sad look on her face. It looked a little like pity for me.

Her eyes grew wide and she covered her mouth.

"You should come to my Christmas dinner. Oh it would be such fun, usually Edward would get annoyed about me going all out for just us but now I can invite you two," she said, her smile looking like a Chester cat.

It was contagious, it soon made me smile too.

"When is it?" I asked.

"This weekend, at the same place the gala was, could you come?" she said.
