chapter three
-&-

The girl continued staring back at me as I looked at her, confused about what is happening right now.

I looked behind me to see if she was actually staring at someone behind me but when I looked, nobody was there.

She was staring at me.

Looking back at her, her eyes were still locked on my figure.

She looked to be my age, light brown hair, a little on the blonde side too. Her eyes were big so I could see she had bright blue eyes. She was wearing a camo jacket over a tight white crop top with black skinny jeans which had a rip at the knees.

Noticing that there was glass all around her, along with other items, I began to worry if she had hurt herself. I slowly walked over to her as her eyes followed my movement.

"A-are you okay?" I asked her, standing just before the glass, looking around her.

She didn't say a think expected blink a couple of times but her glaze didn't move from me.

I pushed back the uncomfortable feeling of being stared at all this time, and took a little step closer.

   "Um, excuse me?" I said.

She shook her head a little, that's when she finally tore her eyes from me and looked around at the mess she made.

She looked back up at me and gave me a faint smile. "I-I'm so sorry, such a clumsy person," She said kneeling down and began to pick up the glass around her.

Frowning, I responded. "It's okay," I breathed out, looking around for a worker, I don't think she should be picking that up.

Kneeling a little too, unsure whether touch it or not. I can't just leave her here alone as she does this with her bare hands.

"Um, do you want to do that?" I asked her, she stopped and stared up at me quickly.

She stared for a few seconds, I thought she was going to go back into a crazy stare but a chuckle soon escaped her mouth.

"Oh yeah, sorry I just-... I'm tired," She mumbled standing up, as did I. She stepped out from the mess she made and sighed. " I'll get someone over here," she said and looked at me again with a smile

"I'm Veronica," she said holding her hand out too me, which I just stared at for a while.

Taking her hand, I gave it a small shake along with a bright smile. "Hi, my names Evelyn,".

Her smiled fluttered a little but her stare on me grew more intense by the second.

Wanting to break whatever was going on right now, I took my hand back and looked at the mess that was made.

"Sorry about your stuff," I said gesturing to the ground but when I looked up she was still staring at me.

It took her a few moments before she looked at the ground, letting out a giggle. "Yeah, people here already know me to be a person to have this happen too,".

As she said that a teen boy walked past the end of the aisle, wearing a shirt similar to the store's logo.

Looking back, she called out. "Hey Richie,".

The boy looked back and headed down the aisle towards us. "Hey veronica," He said and looked at me, offering me a smile. "Hello,".

I smiled in response, not really knowing what to do at this point.
