Chapter Seventeen

"I don't know if this was a good idea,"

Walking up the long driveway, we are entering the home another way instead of the same as the night of the gala.

Apparently this was an easier access why for people who are visiting the home.

And I was beyond nervous to be here, to the point where I wouldn't be surprise if I start sweating uncontrollable.

Or maybe it was because I know that Elijah might not like me.

That feeling really hasn't gone down well with me, it's making a little insane just thinking about it continuously.

I just didn't want to come if I am not welcomed.

We stopped outside a set of dark brown double doors that we taller than any door I have ever seen before.

"It will be fine," She reassured me as she knocked on the double wooden doors, it echoed inside the place.

Standing outside, the door while the chill of the wind hit my legs made it go right up my spine. I was dress in a simple black dress, nothing tight, it was flowy at the bottom while tight around the waste area.

I had a long sleeve that had little puff parts at my wrist, nothing big, it wasn't easy to tell that much.

To finish it off, I brought a pair of flat boots, grey boots that were high rise, high to the point where it went over my knees.

I thought it was nice and simple for a nice Christmas dinner, I didn't think I would have to go over the top.

Veronica wore something similar but instead of a fitted look on her, it was a lot more flowy. With flower prints all the way up and down her dress.

The sound of the door unlocked and slowly open came through but that soon was joined by the sound of Christmas music coming through as well.

Erin's face popped out and smiled big at us.

"hey," She said eagerly. "Come in,".

She opened the door wide for us to step in. We walked in and the door was soon shut and locked behind us, the Christmas music became louder.

Looking around the place, it surely does look as though Christmas threw up in there. There was a massive Christmas tree in one corner of the room, lit up with gold lights and balls hanging from it. Garlands travelling all the way around the room, from the ceilings to the banister.

It was beautiful.

It really made it feel more like Christmas just by looking at it.

"Wow. This looks amazing," I said out loud, in a mesmerising tone of voice.

As I said it the Christmas song that was playing changed over to the next, a little soft song than the previous one.

"Thank you, I go crazy at Christmas, it's almost impossible for me not to do that," she said with a laugh make both me and Veronica smile or laugh with her.

Walk further in, I looked from wall to wall, noticed a few more paintings on the other side of the home as well.

It makes me wonder if these were family members throughout the year.
