The rest of the day flew by quickly. I hadn't adjusted to school life in Cadoan yet and it was pretty tiring trying to figure out how things worked. Kev was taking it easy, and it seemed that he was actually happy. If Kev was happy, I guess I was too.

I went back to my room immediately after school ended. For now, it was the only place I could feel anything close to relaxing.

I switched on my computer and drummed my fingers on the desktop while I waited for it to start up. I checked my email and saw that my inbox was spammed. It was full of emails from Melanie. Oops, I forgot to contact her though I promised.

Melanie was one of my very good friends. We were very close, like, she was my second best friend. We knew each other in elementary school. She was being bullied by this really mean girl who used to snatch her lollipops (she was a fan of lollipops and brought them to school everyday last time) and I kicked that girl's ass. It stopped the bullying but it got me into trouble and my parents were called to school to talk about my so-called violent behaviour. All I did was demand that that meanie return the lollipop and when she didn't, I tried to snatch it. She tried to dodge but tripped and fell. Her mom complained to the school. Why was I blamed for her balancing problems?! Anyway, Mel was grateful of me, standing up for her and she became my good friend. Kev, Mel, and I were the trio and played together often. I missed those days.

I scrolled down my inbox and out of the sixty-five emails I received, forty were from her. It seemed as though she sent an email to me about anything that piqued her interest. Like there was this one that said 'My principal just farted in front of the whole school during assembly! HAHAHA'. She was one to share her joy with others and was easily contented. Apparently, she had spammed my phone with messages as well so that I would reply immediately after I saw whichever. My phone kinda lagged while I tried to open the inbox.

I was laughing as I read through all the messages Mel sent me when Shane returned. He smiled at me and asked, "What are you so happy about? Want to share?" as he dropped his bag beside his bed. I showed him Melanie's message on something stupid she did. He laughed and said, "This Melanie girl's your girlfriend?"

"Nah," I replied. Her boyfriend would be one unlucky guy to have to play her Ken doll. Though so far, no guy had met with such misfortune yet. Not saying that she was bad. She was awesome, with her looks, personality, and all that. She just liked to think like a child. So the guy would have to put up with her antics, unless he was like her I guess. Talking about girlfriends, I wondered if Shane had one. "You have one?"

"What?" His eyes snapped back to look at me as though he was thinking about something earlier.

"A girlfriend," I repeated.

"Ohoh. Nah, not interested," He said. As though he realised something was wrong in what he said, he scrambled to clarify, "Not that I'm not interested in girls or anything! I like girls! I don't like guys! Okay?" He seemed really flustered.

"Yeah, chill dude. I get it," I tried to calm him down with my soothing tone. Why would he think that I would assume him a gay?

"Okay, that's great," was all he replied and there was an awkward silence. I decided to leave the room and take a walk.

I was lost in my thoughts when I rammed into a hard wall of muscle. I looked up and met the gaze of a guy with ash-mauve eyes. He had black hair and his fringe covered one of his eyes. I mumbled a 'sorry' and was about to leave when a voice called out, "Where are you going after bumping into THE Aston Gray," I turned to see the owner of the voice. He was eating a donut. He was fat, had greasy hair, and pimples were peppered all over his face. I guess opposites attract? I think he was standing behind that... What was his name? Oh Aston. I think he was standing behind Aston just now so I didn't see him.

"I'm going back to my dorm now if you would excuse me," I said. I wasn't one to allow myself to be bullied easily. The horizontally blessed guy was yelling something about being new to the school wasn't an excuse when the Aston guy raised his hand as though signaling for him to stop.

"Let him go, we still have things to deal with," With that, he turned and left.

When I returned to my room, Shane was reading something. It was a black card that had elegant gold writing printed on it. He showed it to me and it was an invitation card.

It said:

'Kevin and Colt's Welcoming Party

Avenue: Indoor Stadium

Date: Tomorrow

Time: 6pm - 11pm

All is free to come.'

"What's this all about?" I turned to Shane.

"It's one of the many other reasons for the Student Council to host parties. School life's quite boring when you can't leave the school. It's one of the ways we enjoy. The school allows it 'cuz they believe we should work and play equally hard. Don't worry 'bout it, it's gon' be fun man! There'll be alcohol, they're gonna provide it but you must know where to get it. I know where it is." He whispered the last part though we were the only ones in our room. Shane was pretty excited about this.

"Okay, sure, it seems like it's going to be FUN," I tried to match his enthusiasm, though I wasn't really interested in the welcoming party. It seemed like it was gonna be chaos. How wouldn't it be with a bunch of drunken guys?

A/N: Okay, I tried to write something but I guess it isn't very interesting. /: It just leads up to the next chapter. The next chapter's gonna be about the party and stuff so it will be better (I hope) and longer. Losing my interest in this story because I think it's kind of boring and there are really few votes. ): Any advice? Or should I not continue it anymore? Please vote/comment/fan (:
