Chapter Nineteen

~ Y/N P.O.V ~

I walked down to the arena taking a deep breath and thinking about how I could possibly win this match. His power is far stronger than mine and I can't seem to focus after what happened... I gently up my face hitting it a few times, "Come on Y/N, get yourself together. We can do this; we can win." I put on one of my most determined game faces on and stepped in the arena, the crowd yelling out in the background. I can't lose focus and I can't let him get to me. I crossed my arms and Miss Midnight announced that the winner of this round will be continuing onto the final round involving the first years. My mind went to whose quirk I had and then I started to blush, Todoroki's...because of the kiss. Jesus fuck, come on, who else? Deku I think, it has to be we hugged before I came on down. Maybe...maybe I could piss Todoroki off and get him to do my bidding? That just may work. I smirk as I think of this, and Miss Midnight calls out, "BEGIN!"

I look at Todoroki square in the eyes, we aren't friends right now, we aren't talking like we are. In this arena right here, right now, we're enemies. "Y/N, please. I don't want to-" Todoroki started but I put up my hand to stop him. With that action, he was persistent  to talk to me, "Y/N, listen to me." I frowned and I stomped my foot on the floor bringing my arms to my side. From the action, ice started to race its way towards Todoroki. As expected, he blocked the ice I used with his own. Every few moments as Todoroki tried to advance, I would make more ice appear and he would break it with his own.

"When are you going to stop being on the defensive and actually make a move?" I ask with a little bit of sass to it putting an ice barrier around him. I hear him laugh as he breaks it with his ice, "Me on the defensive? You should see yourself." We went at it with the ice and he started to get a little more aggressive with each attack. Present Mic announced on the loudspeaker, "This looks like a pretty even matchup! Who do you think is going to win! Yell out their name to give them some encouragement and make some noise!" With that, I got a bit distracted as Todoroki made a lunge towards me with his ice. Shit react, react! I swung my left arm creating a wall of fire to melt his ice, his face was in utter shock. "Y/N, you..." He started as his eyes were wide. I smirked, "Oh little boy when will you learn. You don't play with fire unless you want to get burned."

My statement made the crowd go ballistic. He now has a passion...or anger in his eyes as he made another attack. Dagger-like icicle's shot towards me, I blocked a few of them making some melt with the fire I had created but others grazed my skin making slight cuts. One grazed my side, the side that had the stab wound on it. I grabbed my side a little in pain as it had stung, with a small wince I stumbled a bit backward. I noticed his expression change from anger to worry in a matter of seconds. Did he actually care about me in the middle of a damn fight? Stop thinking about this, you need to win! I stood tall and regained my fighting stance as well as my confidence, and spoke, "I won't go down that easy icyhot, maybe you should use your fire quirk and give me more of a challenge?"

He narrowed his eyes and his worried expression yet again changed into a frown, "Maybe I will, can you take the heat though?" I smiled at him and prepared myself for his attacks. He tried to strike to my right using his fire, but I blocked it, but I didn't use the quirk, so it was my bare body blocking his fire. My gym uniform started to burn away revealing my cropped tank top underneath. I glared at him, "I do hope you plan on replacing that, trust fund kid." He smirked and gave me a shrug to which I scoffed, "This isn't your strongest. Don't hold back on me because you're scared; scared of your father..." This seemed to make him upset and he gave a low growl and sent ice towards me, I had no time to react as the ice wrapped around me and enclosed me in.

Jesus fuck, it's freezing in here. I tried using Todoroki's flames to melt the ice, no use. He just fucking trapped me in this cocoon of ice, and I could freeze to death. I swear to God I will fucking kill him if I come out of today with a cold. "Ok, Y/N think. How can I get out of this?" I ask myself as I shiver. Through the ice, I start to hear Miss Midnight announce something, "Y/N is...." SHIT NO! My eyes closed as I cross my arms over my body and let out a yell and the ice breaks at my will. I spoke with a monotone voice, "not finished yet."
