Chapter 7

Rufus's pov

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I shook my head, and waited for Sting and Lector to leave. Once they did, I walked into the room. Gem was still resting. I grabbed a chair from the desk, and brought it over to her bed, and sat down in it. People think we don't care about out guild mates......They're wrong. We care deeply about each other, we just have to hide our feelings because of the Master. I was about to grab Gem's hand, when she opened her eyes. I quickly jerked my hand back.

"Hey," Was all I said.

"Hey," She answered.

She sat up and looked at me.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I came to see you," I answered.

"Why though?"

"I just wanted to make sure that you're ok," I answered again.

She sighed and looked away. There was an awkward silence between us. Gem was staring at the wall. I wish I knew what she was thinking. Then I remembered the question, I've been wanting to ask her.

"Gem......What happened?"
