The fallowing is not a real "Chapter" in that this is not part of the story. Rather just a discussion of the story you just read.

Think of this like the behind the scenes in a DVD special features.

And at the end of this I will share one more sneak peak of my next Loud House fanfiction: "The Rift"

The Idea.

I first started writing Loud House fanfiction when me and some friends made a group online about fanfiction. My first story was a crossover of The Loud House and The Thing (the John Carpenter directed horror movie, staring Kurt Russel.)

The idea of Prototype of a Loud came from two places.

The first story I ever wrote was The Thing About the Loud House (which is honestly the PERFECT title for a Loud House/The thing crossover. I saw someone suggest "The Loud Thing" as a title for this, but come on, that is a TERIBBLE title. That's just slapping the word "Loud" into "The Thing", and just makes it feel awkward to say out loud. The Thing About the Loud House is a much better name, more thought out, and clever.)

In the Thing About the Loud House, the Loud siblings meet a terrifying shapeshifting monster that picks them all off one by one.

Prototype of a Loud flips that idea around, where Lincoln BECOMES the shapeshifting monster, and HELPS his sisters. It's kind of about how even as grotesque and terrifying powers as the ones from Prototype, can be used for good in the right hands.

I have been a HUGE fan of the Prototype video game series since I was in high school. I even referenced Prototype in the Thing About the Loud House. The ending of that story was a reference to the final boss in Prototype 2. Fighting a shapeshifter on the roof of a building. So then with Prototype of a Loud I went full force and made a full Prototype crossover.

Another inspiration is this fantastic story by a man who goes by Underrated Hero, called Requiem for a Loud. Where Lincoln is diagnosed with a terminal illness and how he and his family deals with the tragic situation.

The first Prototype game, Alex Mercer wakes up in a morgue. Essentially rising from the dead. So, my thought, while reading Requiem for a Loud. Was what if Lincoln went through a similar situation as Alex Mercer did. He rises from the dead and needs to learn the secrets of his mysterious new powers.

Alex Mercer, and the Prototype sequel we deserved.

As much as I loved the first Prototype game, I was rather disappointed with how the second game played out, from a narrative perspective.

In Prototype 2 Alex Mercer becomes the main villain, and you pay as a new character named James Heller. Making the main character of the first game, the one gamers connected to, and associate with the name "Prototype" into the villain. Then throwing in some random new guy for us to play as and building up the fight like it's this huge deal, even though Prototype fans have never heard of James Heller, was not the best direction to take. And clearly, I am not the only one who thinks this as the game lost a ton of money.

So, in this story I had Alex as the mentor character, in a story arch I felt he should have gone through instead of what he did in Prototype 2.

Some aspects of Prototype of a Loud are sort of what I think Prototype 2 should have been. Granted not exactly. Obviously, Lincoln and his family would not be in a Prototype game (for a number of reasons)

However, one thing I did love in Prototype 2, was James Heller. He was a very fun character, So I used the multiverse aspect to put him in

The evolution of the story.
