Hope is Dead

Chapter nineteen

They met on the ground floor while Luke planned where they were going next ''We're still heading for Ohio, getting the car's will be tricky.'' he said and looked at them hoping they had an idea, Lui yawned and let his eyes slightly shut ''Can we figure this out in the morning?'' Evan asked feeling tired as well, Luke looked around seeing they were all collectively tried and nodded ''Yeah.'' they all then got up and went upstairs, the only one's to stay were, Marcel, Luke and David. Luke looked at the two ''I mean it you can go sleep.'' Marcel leaned back in the chair he was in and looked at Luke who noticed the bag's under his eye's. 

David tapped his foot thinking long and hard about something before getting up and going upstairs, Luke moved closer to Marcel and looked at him ''When was the last time you slept?'' Marcel smiled ''Back in the other hotel.'' Luke's eye's widened ''Go sleep.'' he ordered and Marcel looked at him ''I can't sleep alright.'' he said and looked at the wall across from him, Luke sighed and leaned back into the couch and Marcel saw what he was doing ''Don't stay up because of me.'' Luke didn't look at him, just stared at a picture above the fire place ''If you stay up any longer you'll faint while we are out doing something, I'm surprised you haven't fainted already.'' Marcel sat up and looked at him ''Please don't blame me for you staying up.'' Luke sat up and looked back at him ''If you don't sleep I won't sleep, then we'll both faint and leave the other's thinking and panicking at why we've fainted.'' Marcel stared at him in a wondering look.

Marcel sighed and got up ''Fine, I'll go to bed.'' he said and walked to the stairs, Luke looked over to the doors seeing they would hold and followed Marcel up the stairs, Marcel looked back seeing him following him ''What?'' he asked as they got to the top of the stairs ''I'm making sure you sleep.'' he said and opened an empty room letting Marcel inside ''You're not sleeping in the same bed as me.'' Luke shrugged ''Alright, I'll sleep on the floor.'' he said as Marcel entered, Marcel looked back at him ''No.'' Luke smiled and shut the door ''Bed or floor, pick one or I stay up with you.'' Marcel sighed knowing Luke wasn't gonna let this go ''Bed.'' he groaned and kicked his shoes off climbing in.

David opened Brian's door and walked over to him ''I need to tell you something because I'm unsure of my decision.'' Brian looked at him seeing the look on his face ''Alright what is it?'' David sat down on the bed across from Brian and breathed out ''I'm gonna ask Lui to marry me.'' Brian's eye's widened ''Wow.'' he said not expecting that ''Um, I'm happy for you.'' David smiled ''So I should ask him?'' Brian smiled ''Yes, how much do you love him?'' David smiled like  fifth grader talking about his crush ''To much to put it into words.'' Brian smiled ''Go ask him, I'm sure he'll say yes.'' David breathed out before getting up and looked at him.

Brian stood up ''Can you make sure no one goes to the roof?'' Brian nodded ''Sure thing.'' he said before hugging David, David then nodded and left Brian's room letting him get some sleep. David walked down the hall standing outside Lui's door knowing Lui was really tired so him being a sleep was something to consider. David entered Lui's room and saw him fast asleep, he saw Lui was alone and walked over to him sitting next to him going threw the plan in his head 'Get Lui up, take Lui to the roof, ask the question.' he breathed in before sitting down on Lui's bed and shook him awake, once he saw this didn't work David tried a different approach and kissed Lui's temple, Lui slowly opened his eye's making David smile.

Lui turned his head and squinted to see David in the moon lit room ''David?'' David shushed him before taking the blanket off him ''Come with me.'' Lui sighed and rolled over ''Just lay down.'' he mumbled and David sighed leaning over him ''I need to tell you something.'' Lui turned to him sitting up slightly ''Tell me here, nobody's in here.'' David sighed sitting down ''Please come with me.'' Lui rubbed his eye's yawning.

''But I'm tired?'' David sighed ''Fine.'' he concluded giving up and changed his plans ''I have to ask you something, I don't have a certain part of this but I wanted to make sure you wanted to do this or not.'' Lui looked at him seeing this was serious so he acted serious ''What is it?'' he asked slowly waking up, David sighed out and shut his eye's ''Do you know how much I love you?'' Lui smiled ''Yes.'' David smiled looking at him, getting lost in Lui's brown eyes.

''David your scaring me what is it?" David smiled taking Lui's hand's ''Lui Calibre, will you marry me in this apocalyptic world we're stuck in?'' Lui's mouth parted hearing the words coming from his lover's lip's ''Oh my God?'' David looked at him a bit cautiously ''What?'' Lui's lip's then smiled and he leaped onto David knocking him to the ground before he leaned down kissing him, Lui then pulled away and looked down at him ''Of course I'll marry you!'' he said then David covered his mouth at how loud he spoke before both of them started giggling.
