Brock was starting to feel the heat getting to him, beed's of sweat dropping down his face while thirst came to his throat and his stomach felt like it was eating its self, he groaned looking around at the far tree's and small patches of grass around sand, mile's and mile's of sand slowly becoming more frequent. He glanced around him trying to find any sign of a safe zone seeing nothing, no sign's, no people walking around looking for other survivors, nothing. He was starting to believe he was going to be alone in a desert looking for something that didn't exist. Brock hung his head walking wondering about how this all happened, where he was when it happened, he was alone so thinking was more prominent. He sighed feeling the heat hitting him in the back of the neck and felt like he was going to pass out, he looked around still seeing no sign's, he thought about how long he had been walking and sighed remembering it had only been two miles. He started thinking about Brian, what he did before ending it 'Why did he kiss me?' he thought looking down smiling a bit 'Why didn't he kiss me before that?' he stopped staring down feeling something in his pocket, he pulled out a small note, confused he opened it and started reading it while standing in the middle of the road.
''Dear Brock; I'm writing this because I'm afraid I won't have enough time to tell you this when the time come's either for me or for you, I love you, I wish I could tell you this in person but I'm terrified you won't like me back, honestly it broke my heart when I herd you were having a kid and getting married, I was happy for you but sad. I finally get a chance to tell you and possibly be with you and it's in the zombie apocalypse, I have a good feeling about you coming out on top of all of this. Remember, I love you. Brian.''
Brock looked up seeing a fenced off area, at first he thought it was nothing until he saw the road blocked off, he started walking faster when he saw a bike that looked like it was recently in use, he ran towards the fenced off area and someone turned around with a gun while the wolf at their side growled at him, Brock put his hands up ''No, please.'' he begged and the person lowered the gun, Brock could see a guy standing behind this other guy with crutches and one leg, he calmed the wolf down ''Who are you?'' they asked and Brock looked back at the one with the gun ''Brock, is this the Arizona safe zone?'' the guy with crutches turned looking threw the gate ''Yep, don't look so safe though.'' Brock turned and the girl raised the gun again as someone came up Brock couldn't believe who it was ''Jack?'' he smiled and ran over hugging him, Brock pulled away looking at him seeing he had only one eye ''Oh my god what happened to you?" the girl lowered the gun looking at them assuming they knew each other.
Five more people showed up walking towards them, they raised their gun's when the girl did ''Everyone just calm down.'' Brock said and went to the gate as everyone lowered the gun's ''No.'' he searched around finding a lock and opened a door next to the large gate, they all walked inside and Brock went over to a guard staring at him ''They said it was safe?'' he mumbled and looked up seeing a radio tower on top of a building hearing a slight humming, he ran over going up the stairs on the side and pushed the door open seeing a radio on a desk, he walked over hearing the same message playing over and over again.
*The Arizona safe zone is taking in anyone who is nearby, we are located on the right side of the main highway.* Brock walked over before hearing a part he's herd before *Announcement, for those coming to the safe zone in Arizona, you must go around the main road for it is to crowded with reanimated people* he reached out turning the broadcast off as the other's stood behind him, he turned around looking at them before looking down and grabbing the chair tossing it at the wall in anger before leaning on the desk looking down.
