Hope is Dead

Chapter thirty four

The three looked around in the store looking for gas, they walked around the store for a bit then Luke found it, he grabbed the gas can's from the chained off shelf, he looked over to the guys seeing them looking a tires and different car parts seeing they didn't really know what they were looking at. Luke carried one over to them and set it down by the door they came in threw peeking outside seeing some zombie's come around the corner of a building followed by more, he shut the door fast and turned to the others ''Get down.'' he warned and picked up the gas can walking away from the door, he set the can behind the desk where Evan and Brian went and sat down with them.

Evan and Brian looked at him confused ''Zombies.'' he explained simply and they sighed sitting there ''Damn it.'' Brian mumbled while Evan tried looking over the desk ''What about the others?'' he asked looking at the two ''They're fine, their probably in the car.'' Luke reassured looking at them, Brian nodded agreeing with him and looked at Evan ''Their smart, they know not to be outside with the dead around.'' Luke said and looked over to a window across from them seeing the dead limping past them, he moved over beside Evan and Brian soon followed his move ''But their alone?'' Brian commented worriedness all over his face.

Luke looked over to the door seeing some Zombie's straying from the horde ''You guy's have seen the walking dead right?'' he asked and looked at them, they looked back at him ''What are you thinking?'' Brian asked a bit worried about what he was planning ''Rick is usually the one making the plans and they normally turn out to be crazy.'' Evan said looking at him, Luke pointed over to a zombie outside alone, it wandered to the window's before turning and slowly walking back to the group of the dead ''Covering ourselves in zombie gut's would work for getting us back to the car.'' Evan sighed while Brian rolled his eye's ''You don't know if it works with these types of zombies.'' Evan explained and looked at him but Luke had already gotten up and walked to the door grabbing a wrench.

The two got up knowing they would have to help in one way or another, Luke quickly opened the door getting it's attention, it ran at him and he swung the wrench hitting it in the head, the two separated as it came crashing into the store, Luke shut the door and walked over crushing it's skull. Brian and Evan turned away being disgusted at the sight of brains and skull chunks now on the ground ''Either of you have a knife?'' they shook their heads and Luke looked around for something sharp seeing a window cleaner, he looked around before walking over and grabbing three auto body suit's before walking back to them.

He handed them each one and went to get the window cleaner, he put it down beside the dead corpse and put the suit on, the other two copied knowing they were actually going threw with this. Luke looked around seeing safety goggles and grabbed three pairs, he then got on his knee's beside it and stared at it trying to hold throw up back. Evan noticed this ''You can't do it.'' Luke looked up at him as Brian turned to them ''You can't cut this guy open.'' Luke took a deep breath in before grabbing the window cleaner and held it with two hand's before plummeting it into the stomach of the corpse, it went right in threw the clothes and the two looked away. Luke looked away as well feeling sick to his stomach.

''I really hope that car is worth all this.'' Evan commented trying to lighten the mood but didn't hear them chuckle, Luke moved the window cleaner down the body before pulling it out and setting it to the side, then the smell enclosed them all and they backed away ''This can't be good to be breathing in.'' Brian stated, Evan looked behind him on the desk seeing a box of small masks, the grabbed three and tossed two to them putting one on shrugging ''Not the best but better then nothing.'' he said and crossed his arm's over his chest, Luke put his on and crouched down again hating this already and it wasn't even on him yet.

Brian stepped away for a bit before appearing again with gloves, he gave a pair to Evan and Luke got them on before taking a minute ''Not to late to say no and just wait it out.'' Brian said seeing he was having trouble, Luke shut his eyes ''I hunt and gut animals, these are no different.'' he said and opened them again digging his hand's into the gut's, Evan couldn't handle it, he stepped away pulling the mask off and threw up in a nearby trash bin. Brian walked around and over to him patting his back as he threw up more, Brian looked away not wanting to join his friend in throwing up watching as Luke looked away while he spread the gut's on his arm's and chest.
