"Are you just going to keep staring at me?" I cross my arms angrily sinking down in the arm chair.

"I'm not staring."

"You are," I narrow my eyes.

"I'm simply looking at you," Meredith states.

"Then stop looking at me!"

"What else am I suppose to do? You refuse to share your feeling. You also get mad when I give you advice or try to encourage you to talk. There is nothing else I can do besides sit here," she taps her nails on her clipboard. "So that's what I'm going to do."

I've definitely gotten stuck with the most annoying shrink to ever exist. I chew the inside of my cheek gazing at the clock in boredom. It seems to tick in slow motion. Kate forbid me to leave the session early. She threatened to take my phone for a week if I did. I told her I am old enough to make my own decisions. She respond, "Obviously you're not old enough because you keep making the wrong ones." It is a valid point, but who's to say that my decisions aren't the right ones though?

"I went on a date," I mutter.

"Really? When did this happen?"

"A few days ago. He took me out to dinner. He's really sweet," I explain. I might not like Meredith, and I might not want to talk to her about my dad, but an hour is a long time to sit there being stared at.

"Are you guys in a relationship?"

"Not yet, but I think it might lead to that," I explain my predictions.

"How did you two meet?" Meredith sits back in her chair and puts her clipboard down on the table. It's like we are actually having a real conversation for once rather than her ask me to rate my internal pain on a scale of one to ten.

"Here," I inform her. "I guess it is the one good thing that came out of this hell hole. It was my first time coming here. I held the elevator for him when I got on. He must be a patient here too."

"What's his name?"

"Leo Delcont, do you know him?"

"I might know who you're talking about," she quickly says with a cold expression on her face.

"Are you his shrink too?"

"All of my patients information is strictly confidential. I can't tell you if he's a patient of mine or not," Meredith says sternly. "My friend is the physiotherapist down the hall. If he's got an injured leg, perhaps he was working with her."

"That's the only reason I held the elevator for him. I was in a bad mood so I didn't want to, but you can't close the door on a dude with a broken leg wobbling down the hall trying to make it. We were joking around saying how we are thankful that he broke his leg because that is the reason we met."

"I guess that makes you lucky," Meredith says with a tight-lipped smile. She speaks her words carefully while tucking a strand of hair that sprung loose from her ponytail behind her ear.

"Maybe my luck is beginning to turn around," I shrug, yet unable to hold back the small smile that pulls at the corners of my lips.

After everything that has happened, Leo is possibly the one good thing that has happened to me throughout these last few months. He makes me forget about everything. Leo is like a breath of fresh air after being trapped beneath the water.

"I'm proud of you," Meredith smiles. "You did good today. You're expressing your feelings. That's a big step. You should be proud of yourself."

"I didn't talk about my dad though," I tell her obviously confused.
