"Hold up."
"What?"
"Let me get this straight," Lucas glares at us. "You guys went to a totally awesome cliff called Eagles Point without me?"
"You were busy with Andrea, so yeah we did," I respond.
"Okay, and let me get this right," he continues. "While at this totally awesome cliff by the totally amazing sunset, Henry Miller asked you out?"
"Yeah, sort of," I confirm.
"Okay wait, so do you two have a thing?"
"We aren't dating yet, I'm not ready for that right now."
"Stop right there, let me make sure I'm understanding this, you said no to the totally perfect sunset proposal?"
"He didn't straight up ask me out, Lucas. He knows I'm going through a lot right now."
"Okay, hold on-"
"Lucas, what on Earth do you not get now?" Olivia shouts. "We climbed up a treacherous hill to a beautiful cliff where, yes, Henry freaking Miller asked her out and she said she needed time but wants him to be in her life!"
"Why didn't you just start with that?" Lucas throws his hands up in dismay.
"We did!" Olivia and I both shout at the same time. People in the hallway turn to give us a funny look, but quickly move onto more entertaining drama.
"I just can't believe Henry likes you," he says in confusion. Olivia shoots him a very angry, over protective, mama bear glare. "I mean obviously you're great and who wouldn't like you." He corrects. "I'm just surprised that Henry wants to settle down with someone. I don't think he's ever had a girl he seems to truly care about like you. Also, I can't believe he never told me!"
Olivia grabs her books from her locker and clicks it shut. "Considering you're best friends with us, he probably assumed that you would tell her."
"Obviously not, you know the bro code-" Lucas glances up at both of our pointed stares. "But obviously the best friend code overpowers that."
"Hey," Henry sneaks up beside me.
"Oh hey, how's your morning going?"
"Was pretty good, but now I have math so I'm guessing it's going to take a turn for the worst. I'll see you later though," he smiles and gives my hand a squeeze before scurrying off.
"That's disgusting. I can practically see the whip marks," Lucas gags. Liv and I stop to look at him obviously very confused. "Get it, cause he's whipped?"
"What?"
"Oh nevermind," he sighs. "I'm feeling quite abused right now so I'm going to class."
"See you at lunch," I say as we depart ways. We weave our way through the hall avoiding the crowds of students. I stop when I feel someone wrap their hand around my arm. I quickly whip around to see Lydia hovering over me in her black stiletto heels.
"Don't touch me," I pull my arm back roughly from her grasp.
"Trust me I don't want to," She shutters in disgust. "I seen you with Henry."
"Okay so?"
"Do you two have a thing now or what?" Lydia quizzes.
"That's none of your business," I retort.
"You really are pathetic. You can't get your own man so you have to go after my sloppy seconds, huh?" She snaps rolling her eyes.
"Too bad you didn't actually date him, huh? The only reason he was talking to you was to make me jealous. Which means you were his sloppy second choice."
