Clarke's POV

"Clarke!" My mom called after me as I purposely walked away from her and ignored her words.

"Clarke! You are acting like a child." My mother voice cut through the different noises from the people working all around us at camp.

"Fine. What?" I said annoyed through gritted teeth.

"I think we should talk about that it was a grounder who attacked you the other day." My mom speaks as her lips form a thin line.

"I thought we already talked about this. I've already set up a meeting with Lexa." I answered, speaking the truth, I was supposed to meet her the next day.

"I know that, but I think you should have more people than those assigned already with you." My mother spoke. I could clearly see the concern in her eyes even when she had to remove her hair from her face every second because of the wind.

I sighed.

"Fine." I started, meeting her eyes. "If that's what will stop you from worrying, then do it."

Her shoulders relaxed and she gave me a small smile.

"But," I said, still looking serious. "I don't want to come with a whole army, we need to trust her, and I think we can trust Lexa." I finished.

My mom nodded, and I gave her a smile I left like I owed her, before I walked off.

I met Finn on my way over to Raven.

"Hey." He smiled widely, his brown hair was messy.

"Hi." I smiled back at him. He began walking with me.

"Where are you going?" He asked, catching my eye.

"Just going to talk with Raven, she said earlier she had something she wanted to show me," I answered him as we almost reached Raven. She was standing outside and waved to me as she saw me.

"Alright, can you meet me after?" He asked as he stopped up.

I nodded. "Sure, but I don't know how long it'll take."

He just nodded and smiled as a reply before I continued walking to meet Raven.

"He totally has a thing for you." Was the first thing she said when I reached her.

"What? Who?" I asked, actually confused.

"Well, let's just say his name starts with 'F' and rimes with 'inn'." I chose not to answer anything to what she had said. What was I supposed to say?

"Raven," I said, making her look at me again.

She gave me a look that just said 'what?'

"What was it that you wanted to show me?" I asked, and I immediately saw her face change. She smiled like she had discovered something awesome, which she maybe had, but at least that told me it wasn't that serious.

She began talking in what almost seemed like a different language with her bits and bops.

"Hi, Finn," I said. About an hour had passed since we had seen each other. Raven and I had talked about quite a few different things.

"Hey," He stood up from the tree stump he was sitting on.

"What did you want?" I felt like I asked that question a lot that day.

"Well, if you're free I have something to show you. It's only if you have the time of course, or else I'll just let you be." He said, sounding kind of nervous.

"I don't have anything else to do for today," I answered.

"Great, meet me at the gate in 5 minutes? It's just maybe we should bring a weapon with us to be sure." He smiled.

"Alright," I nodded.

I met him at the gate five minutes later as we agreed. He led me out into the trees. We walked deeper into the forest until he suddenly stopped.

"Here we are." He simply said, but I couldn't see anything special about the place. It was just trees and bushes like the rest of the forest we had seen.

"What exactly am I supposed to see?" I asked, laughing awkwardly for a moment.

"That tree right there. It starts as one but then it kind of splits into two, and then as it continues, it kind of forms a heart." Finn said as he laid his hand on my back and pointed up to the tree that was only a few meters from us.

"Yeah, I see that," I answered as I looked a the tree.

"And then right here." Finn starting walking towards the tree as he spoke in a more quiet voice. He didn't say more but pointed to a bird nest in one of the branches of the tree. There was a bigger bird with a few smaller ones.

"Awww. That's cute." I answered. After looking at the bird nest for a minute or so, we sat down up against the tree as we just sat there talking for a while.

It was slowly getting darker. "We should probably head back to camp," I suggested as I turned my head to look at Finn.

"Yeah," He answered while removing a strand of my hair from my face.

He stood up and pulled me up too. We started walking back to camp.

//AUTHORS NOTE//

Also just, I might change a few things from the series throughout this book. Like, Finn might be alive here even though he was dead at that point in the show and stuff like that. It's just so you know. Anyway, I hope you have an amazing week. And thanks for reading this by the way.
