19 - Another Choice

He took her back to her home, to Klaus.

"What happened?!" the original yelled.

"I don't know. I just found her like this. I don't know what to do. She not a vampire she's a wolf. Klaus please tell me there's something you can do?" he questioned.

Stefan went to let Caroline's friends know what had happened as Klaus gave her some of his blood to help her he wasn't sure if it would work but he hoped it would if not then Bonnie had to have something that would she was the most powerful witch they all knew. Stefan had wandered into the hall in hope he could get hold of his friends.

"Oh Caroline! I'm so sorry." he heard Klaus' voice.

Stefan ran through to see Klaus hugging Caroline who seemed to be fine now.

"What did you do?" Stefan spoke as he saw Caroline smile.

"It doesn't matter. She's fine now" he smiled at her.

"Please forgive me?" he begged Caroline who just smiled up at him like a little girl who was ill.

Her eyes suddenly changed colour "Caroline?" stefan got worried but he knew what Klaus had done to save his friend. "I'll go and get a blood bag will I?" he asked Klaus who nodded in reply.

'How will she react?' Stefan thought

minutes later Stefan returned to the living room in which it was clear as he stepped into the room that they were talking about things they didn't want to be talking about. "Sorry" Stefan said handing the blood bag to Caroline. "I'll just leave you two to talk." he smiled weakly.

He cared so much about Caroline and didn't want to see her get hurt and Klaus had already hurt her and Stefan didn't want to see her get hurt again the reason was because she just nearly died was because of him, from trying to escape him.

"Caroline I'm sorry i don't know how many times i can apologise" Klaus spoke quietly as if she was fragile.

"Why did you do it?" she replied in the same tone but angry.

"I wasn't thinking." he replied.

"No you weren't! It's not fair Nik!" she didn't mean to call him Nik she wanted to call him Klaus she had done since she left as she was full of anger yet every time she saw him she became angry yet when he spoke to her in a calm tone all the hated feelings she had disappeared.

The pair just talked and talked and yelled a little till they both felt better until Nik revealed that he was going to return to New Orleans.

"Where does that leave us then?" Caroline said sadly.

"It doesn't change how i feel about you" he said "I meant it, Caroline. I love you"

"Then don't leave if you love me you wont leave again" she said knowing that if he did in fact stay then he did love her but if he didn't then he obviously didn't, not enough anyway. As much as she wanted to be with him she wouldn't leave Mystic Falls and Caroline had a gut feeling that he would leave town and go back to New Orleans and therefore she would have to say goodbye to Klaus.

"I don't want to leave you Caroline. Really I don't. But my family aren't here anymore." he stated the reason for why he left and would leave again.

"I'm here" her heart broke. "Its not blood or genetics that make you family it's love."

He sighed.

He had went through so much did so many had things and his family never turned their backs on him but he remembered that he did tell Caroline everything that happened every bad thing he ever done in the past yet she still loved him and always saw the best in him.

Caroline had made her choice now Klaus had to pick between the woman he loves or the woman carrying his child.
