Author: Sup! So, I'm Hispanic, but I don't speak a lot of Spanish. I understand it well, but when it comes to speaking, or writing/typing, my grammar is awful. I'm telling you this because this chapter contains some Spanish phrases and stuff. So to spare you all from trying to decipher the sentences, I'm using Google Translate. If there's any mistakes... it's Google's fault. Sorry.

My friends scared me sometimes.
Not purposely scared me, like pranking me. I mean, they legitimately made me worry about their mental well-being and sanity.
Most times it was Talon, but now it was dear Kins. She rejects my idea of Never Have I Ever, but when Talon mentions it she's all for it? Sometimes, she was just the worst, and she knew it.
So anyway, I was sitting in the kitchen. I may have said that I was going to eat the Lasagna, but I needed to wait for Ryder. We both loved the dish, so it would have been rude if I ate without him. Most of the snacks were out in the living room, but there was still a box of donuts in the kitchen. I stood up and was about to open the box when Talon came in. She specifically told me not to eat the donuts before, so I backed away from them as fast as possible.
"Hey Tal.... What's up?" I questioned, trying to be nonchalant. I leaned on the counter and crossed my arms, like one of those bad boys in movies, so I'm pretty sure I didn't look nonchalant.
She eyed me suspiciously. "I forgot that I left some donuts in here. But since you're already here too, do you mind just moving them to the snack table?"
"Not at all," I replied, grabbing the box and leading the way out of the kitchen. I hesitantly placed it next to the other donuts, still feeling a little hungry. "When are we eating?" I whined.
"When guests start arriving, you cute dumbass." At first I was mad and about to retort, but then she gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. I couldn't stay mad at her when she did that. It was impossible.
I was about to kiss her on the lips in return when there was a loud smack or thud sound against the window on the left side of the door. I immediately pulled away and we went to see what the hell that was.
From where we were standing before it looked like a small black blob was smooshed against the window. As we got closer, the black blob turned out to be Crackers, Ryder's wild crow. He probably didn't see the glass and flew right into the window. Poor guy.
Kinsley was adjusting and dusting off her clothes, even though she looked perfectly fine. Then I saw the frightened expression she was trying to hide. The bird scared her half to death again. I almost couldn't stop myself from laughing at her.
"I thought crows were supposed to be smart?" She complained. "And less violent."
"They are, but Crackers is the unique exception," Talon explained with a relaxed smile, as if she was completely unbothered by the fact that Crackers flew into her window. "Now if you're done being scarred for life, would you please open the door for Ryder?"
Kinsley glared at her before walking to the front door and opening it, revealing a grinning blue-headed giant and an even bigger brown-haired co-worker.
"Nate! You actually said yes then?" Kinsley asked, sounding both excited and confused.
"Yeah. What really convinced me though was that he said there would be Lasagna," Nate confessed/joked.
We laughed. "Well you made the right choice. It's in the kitchen, fully intact," I told them.
Ryder chuckled, "Were you waiting for us? I didn't think that was possible when it came to Lasagna."
