A/N  Wow. You fellow humans are getting an early update. I have half school days this whole week for conferences, so yeah. You'll also get an update Friday. I got braces this morning. They don't hurt yet, just feel really weird. I have also finally gotten around to writing the review of Spy School: British Invasion (the actual book, I got an ARC from Edelweiss Plus).

Here is the link: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2684250103

I also have exciting news for you: this chapter will be written in Erica's POV. (Just an FYI, I've been re-reading the Twilight Saga, so bear with me please).

Erica's POV

A large clearing

A forest in England

April 2

1615 hours (4:15 in the afternoon, in case you don't know)

I saw Ben talking to Jawa and Chip after he saved my life. That Ben Ripley. He was really one of a kind. I was still really worried about him. What happened if he didn't make it? That bullet wound was much more serious than I was letting on. What would I do if he died? I stopped thinking about that. The thought was much too depressing.

Of course, being me, I was also aware of everything else going on. Cyrus was making his way slowly towards me, I heard the slight crunch of his shoes on the dirt 75 feet behind be. My mom was also walking towards me, but slower. Taking out 40 SPYDER agents made you tired, even from her lineage. I had taken out 39, but I had also taken out Mr. E.

For good.

This is my first kill. I'm not sure how I feel about it, since that was the man who has almost killed Ben. If anything, I was happy he couldn't hurt anyone anymore.

I had been staring and sweeping the battlefield, but I felt a tug at my heart. I looked to Ben and smiled. His eyes met mine, and I felt a warm sensation inside that was not entirely new to me. Come on. I told myself. Get it together, Hale.

Then, Ben's face froze in agony. A metal hand grabbed my heart, and I started running towards him, tripping over an unconscious SPYDER agent unceremoniously. I got up and started running again. So did Grandpa, Mom, and everyone else from school.

Ben stumbled, and then crumpled. Jawa and Chips were frantic, rolling him over to his back. I reached Ben and shoved Jawa out of the way. His eyes were glassy, indicating he was half conscious. If luck was on his side, he wouldn't remember the pain. If it wasn't... he would have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder at the very least.

The first step was to see if he was responsive, even though it did look like he would ever be responsive again.

"Ben." I said, loudly. He didn't move, and a panic like no other seized me. "Ben, wake up!" I screamed at him. When that did nothing, I checked for a pulse, though I knew what I would find. I knew it the moment I saw him fall.

Where there should have been a pulse, there was nothing.

I bent over his mouth, trying to feel a breath. There was nothing but the smell of blood.

"Grandpa! Mom!" I yelled, tears in my eyes. His heart wasn't beating. A human can only go three minutes without a pulse and not sustain brain damage if they can be revived. And that's a big if.

Cyrus was at my side in a second, and he is now sucking in a long breath. That doesn't make me feel any better. Cyrus stood up and started ordering people around.

"Someone call 999!" he yells in an authoritive voice. "We need an airlift to the hospital NOW! Erica, start CPR."

I didn't what I was about to do, but I did it. I clasped my hands together and pushed down on his chest. While doing CPR, you need to compress the chest 2 inches to do any good. This takes exactly 60 pounds of force. 60 pounds of force is enough to crack or break ribs. Sure enough, after the third compression, I heard a crack.
