A/N Hiiii. Yeah, I'm not dead, just an awful person. I'm so so so so so sorry that I haven't been able to update sooner. As you know, I was in China, and before that I had to do a ton of make up work. On top of that, I had terrible case of writer's block. Thankfully that is over, and so you get this chapter. I hope you enjoy it. Also, thanks so much for the 11.6k views.
Also: Message me and tell me what you thought of SSBI!!! I read the ARC and haven't seen the bonus pages yet, so don't spoil them please. But just tell me, are they interviews? :))))
Enjoy your chapter!!!
Ben's Hospital Room
A Hospital in Downtown London
April 2
1740 hours (5:40 p.m. in the afternoon, in case you don't know)
There was an awkward silence for a second, and then Cyrus' phone rang. This was concerning, as not many people had Cyrus' phone number. I knew Erica had it, so did Alexander, and maybe Catherine and some of the higher ups at various agencies. But that's it.
"Hi, I'm four minutes away from the coffee shop, I'll be there soon." Cyrus said, his eyes narrowed, while putting the caller on speaker.
I was extremely confused for a second, but Erica leaned down and whispered,
"It's a code he has with all his contacts to identify moles." Erica said.
That made much more sense. My ears reddened in embarrassment, and Mike snickered.
"Remember, I'm sitting inside." The voice said. It was male, sounding like he was Cyrus' age.
"What's the update?" Cyrus asked. Apparently, whoever he was speaking to had passed the test.
"All the SPYDER agents in the field and in the underground system have been taken to the MI6 holding center in the north of England. We are actively searching for all documents and computers in the underground headquarters. But there's one we can't open. It's not like any computer we've ever seen. It had a weird hole in it that looks like it's shaped for some kind of key." The anonymous voice replied, sounding sort of confused.
"Thanks. I'll be there soon." Cyrus said, and hung up.
He turned to Murray with menace in his eyes, and promptly grabbed him by the cuff of his shirt. Cyrus proceeded to slam Murray into the wall.
"Where's the key?" Cyrus demanded.
"He still has it?" Chip asked, aghast. "Why didn't you take it from him?"
"It was the only way he would comply." Catherine said, giving Murray a look of pure loathing.
As it was, Murray was shaking and sweating already, scared out of his mind.
"Give me the key." Cyrus hissed.
Murray debated for a second, then said, "No."
"Give me the key you insolent jerk!" Cyrus said, though, he might have used a word instead of 'jerk' that was not so PG.
"Ok ok ok ok!" Murray said, crying now. "Please don't kill me!" More crying from Murray.
"You're so pathetic!" Jawa said.
"I know!" Murray whimpered.
"Just give me they key!" Cyrus demanded. "We don't have all day here!"
