And take care of it Donghyuck did. With his social hierarchy and privilege as the principal's son, Donghyuck made sure Na Jaemin didn't ever see another fist coming his way.

It angers Mark to no end. Because he knows that Donghyuck stepping in, Donghyuck interfering, has nothing to do with his concern about Jaemin himself, but because Mark was unable to step in himself. It makes Mark feel invalid and incapable as a best friend, Jaemin's only friend here in this town. If only Donghyuck had given him more time

But no.

For whatever reason, Donghyuck had sent Jeno to save Jaemin for the last time, and then took matters into his own hands to solve the problem for forever.

Mark knows that Donghyuck's solution isn't sincere. And that enrages him to no end. He can't even complain about it, yell about it, scream about it to anyone, because Jaemin is his only friend, and he'd be angry and heartbroken if he found out what the real reason behind him being left alone is.

Jaemin currently thinks that people started to lay off of him because they've realized that he's just like Donghyuck and Jeno, everyone's most prized possessions. Donghyuck and Jeno are seated up on a pedestal, and Jaemin believes that people realized that he's like them too, in one singular way.

And Mark would be the last person who would want to burst that bubble.

Having to see Donghyuck's smug face pass his own everyday in the hallways makes Mark want to step on the younger, but Mark was never someone to act impulsively, or on his violent fantasies. Having to see Jeno's face simply made him mad, seeing as he only stepped in because Donghyuck had asked him too. Any decent human being would step in and intervene when they see something like that; when they see someone getting beat up. Mark feels disgusted that some people wouldn't want to step in because they believe it was right, but rather because it was an order from someone.

Mark doesn't even feel like going to school, having to face the two boys, the sun and the moon, who continuously fuck things up in Mark's life and the life of his only friend. But getting to see Jaemin finally smile during the day, enjoy his time at school, and talk animatedly on their walks home is the only thing that's keeping Mark from heading up to Donghyuck and Jeno, and (preferably) punching some sense into them.

Once again though, he doesn't like to act upon his violent fantasies.

Since Donghyuck is always at the park, Mark decides to go to the town library today. He doesn't particularly dislike libraries, but he found them to be too quiet for his liking. Because of Donghyuck, however, he doesn't really have the choice to choose to be somewhere else anymore. Library is second best to the park anyways. It was quiet enough to think, and the chances of someone disturbing you were close to zero, because no one ever disturbs someone in a library unless they really need too. It was also insanely easy to hide yourself in a library; there are a multitude of crooks and nannies to secure yourself away in for hours on end.

But because everything is going against his wishes, the second he walks into the library, he finds Jeno sitting at one of the study tables.

His blood is boiling, and he feels as if he can't get an escape. Mark probably has anger issues, because it isn't anything that matters a whole lot, but to not be able to just go somewhere to be alone and relax is something so peeving in Mark's eyes. Is it so much to ask to just be able to breathe alone for a bit?

He's about to turn around and head back home, feeling dejected for the first time in a while, but something catches his eyes before he can. Actually, it probably catches everyone's eye, but Mark is the only one who stares blatantly. Granted, Mark always stares, but this time he really can't take his eyes off.
