I swear I can hear dust fall.
The school was absolutely quiet, only the steps I made echoed throughout the halls.
I looked down at the phone in my hand and grumbled slightly.
Why'd Mathew yell at me to come when he won't even text me back?
I sighed, momentarily giving up on finding an answer and walked to my first period class.
I pushed the gym doors open and needless to say I was yet again disappointed. Absolutely nobody was there and the gym lights were all off.
My eyes narrowed to the take a peak outside. It had suddenly started raining ever since I arrived? I wonder how long I've been walking around for.
The faculty have certainly been here as the doors to the outside were open wide, even though it was raining.
I blinked, walking inside the gym, and letting the door shut behind me.
In a way, it felt like deja vu.
The first time I saw Ryland was almost like this scene, but this time it felt almost calming.
I guess this was why Ryland liked the rain so much.
I smiled to myself at the small memories.
I made my way over to the gym doors leading to the outside and found a familiar figure under a tree.
It was Ryland, which didn't strike me as odd, but his attire did. He was wearing a loose coat with a hoodie and something in his hand was covered by the sleeves. His hood was up, facing away from me, and his stance seemed more chilling than ever.
"Ryland?" I called out.
His head turned to me slightly, using his free hand to motion me over.
I gladly ran to him, eager that I can finally gain an explanation for the weird disappearance of everyone.
"What's going on?" I asked, once I finally faced him.
His body was still faced away from me, almost like he was avoiding to look at me at all.
He ignored my question and instead threw a cigarette box at me.
"You're annoying you know that?"
I blinked in confusion, tilting my head slightly.
"I decided to quit smoking forever."
I felt my lips form into a smile.
In excitement, I ran towards him and hugged him from behind as an appreciative gesture.
I felt a wet, thin substance immediately on the tips of my fingers.
I went to let go to investigate but Ryland grabbed my wrists, stopping me.
"Do you love me, (First Name)?"
-yes (accept)
-no (deny)
