The Second Choice

Feelings

"Hey Crystal" Micheal says "Can we talk?", I've been avoiding him for the last week because I didn't really want people talking about us, so I've been growing distant from him and he has been taking note of so he kinda backs off until the following week.

After lunch we usually have this thing called spill out where we usually either walk and talk or play sports, and Micheal always plays soccer so that's where I expected him to be but instead he walked up to me and wanted to have that talk, I was expecting him to confront me about why I was avoiding him.

My friends were inside in the bathroom so I agreed and followed him outside. "what's wrong?" I say as he starts to pull on the front of his fair. It's funny actually because he does this literally all the time like if I could get a dollar for every hair pull, I'd be rich. But it's honestly kind of cute because he always does this during tests when he doesn't know the answers.

He then starts talking about this girl he "really likes". I'm confused "why would he tell me about this?" "well what about her?" I tell him. "Well I want to tell that I like her but I don't know how, I feel like she'd reject me because she's too beautiful and good for me." Talking about this now makes me realize how stupid I was for not noticing this for the first time.

So I tell him "well you should just tell her, you never know what she's going to say." "Okay I'll try, thank you Crystal." He then walks into the soccer field with his other friends.

I then run into my friend Talia. She and I have known each other our entire lives, since we have learned our ABC's. She always tells me everything and I do too, we've known each other this long, so I have nothing to worry about. "Yo Crystal can I tell you something?". "Yea you always can" I tell her with a reassuring smile on my face. "Ok so I have a crush on someone...in our class." "Ouuu girl spill" I ask her excitingly, "okay but don't tell anyone" I nod, "it's....Micheal" Oh. "She likes Micheal, him out of all boys?". "That's great Talia, you should tell him." "Should she?" Talia assures me that she won't because she doesn't have the courage to and with that she walks to her other friends. As I look out in the distance my eyes lay on Micheal playing soccer, Why does this bother me? It shouldn't...maybe I-

"Crystal!" Amelia shouts as she is walking down the stairs, interrupting my thoughts "Where did you go? We couldn't find you anywhere" she says as Christina approaches us. I wasn't about to tell them about the whole Micheal issue, for staters I didn't think it was about me and well I would never hear the end of it from them. So I just tell them about Talia instead, I think they realize that I'm bothered by this but don't really confront me on it, they know how I get when they mention Micheal and I together.

In our final class of the day, we usually do homework, like a free period. Our teachers Mr.Flores and Ms.Aurora announce that they have "exciting news". "Okay students, as you know we always have a yearly dance, and this year the theme will be Valentines Day, and take place next Friday!" Some students cheer and the others just stay quiet, as for myself I don't really like school dances. For starters I can't dance to save my life and that's what people do 99% of the time. Second I have no one to go with so that's great. My friendChristina immediately asks me if I'm going and I tell yes because although I'm going alone and can't dance, I still have my friends in the process "Yeah I am", "who knows maybe something will happen with you and lover boy" she says as she wiggles her eyebrows. "Will it?"

My phone keeps buzzing repeatedly and it won't stop. I'm laying down on my bed and my phone is on my desk, I didn't want to get up but the obnoxious noise of the buzzing against my wooden desk drives me crazy, so I get my phone.

Alexia: yup I asked him if he likes you and he said that he did !! Girl this is a sign to wake up .

My heart drops as I'm reading this, "He actually likes me?" My cheeks turn a bright red and before I know it I'm smiling like an idiot.
