Alice was smiling when I entered the room, although I feared it was more of a grimace. She was still in the place I'd left her except she was sitting up now. She reached out her hand for me, making grasp-y starfish gestures like a baby. She squeezed my hand when I took it and tried to kiss me when I got close enough,
"Well you are in a good mood," I laughed. She shuffled over feebly to let me sit beside her. I couldn't help but laugh at her caterpillar like attempt to move over.
"Carlisle's just coming to examine you," I told her. Just as soon as the smile appeared it was gone again, she reached for my other hand
"It's all right I've got you," I said as softly and confidently as I could manage, taking Carlisle's words into account. I turned to Esme,
"Have you been timing them?" I asked, again calm and collected. She shook her head a little,
"Not for a while, do you want me to time this one?"
"Please," I nodded, "I'm a little busy," I laughed nodding to my almost white hands from where Alice was gripping them. I turned all my attention back to her, I noticed the panic in her eyes that she was trying hard to hide, and she could never hide it from me for very long. She was breathing wrong as well; I prised one of my hands from hers and began to rub her back,
