"Your file updated and-"
Nigel quietened when a group of agents were ahead, and allowed himself a small sigh of relief once they passed them, heeding no attention at the duo.
"And there's been major changes. I was only shown the hard copy, but I can't access the soft copy, so you won't be able to see it."
"Not a problem," Gracie muttered, keeping her head low as she continued to brisk walk, taking a sharp turn, "I can just find the file myself. In the meantime, care to update me?"
"For starters, you've been deemed to have self destructive tendencies like-"
Gracie scoffed, risking a sly glance at the male beside her.
"Self destructive? That's rich," she stated blandly, before focusing her sight in front of her once more.
"We'll talk about that later. You have a lot of classes you have to attend, you'll be under closer scrutiny, and you no longer have an established mentor. That's the few main things I can remember clearly."
"I have lessons? How rich," she lamented, her pace picking up ever so slightly, "and for the record, they've been watching me like a bloody hawk up until now. I highly doubt they can have an even tighter leash on me."
"You'd be surprised."
She stopped in front of a door, pressing her ear against it as she made a circle motion, translating to 'cover me.'
Nigel glanced around cautiously, making sure no one was around before he snapped towards the sound of the door being knocked on.
"What're you-"
She twisted the door handle harshly, pulling it open without warning as she barged in without any regard for the startled group of men inside.
Everyone twisted towards the sudden intrusion, initially perplexed before it was wiped away with annoyance.
"I'm sorry, but we're kind of busy right now and-"
"Hand over the laptop, oh, and you have my phone as well. I'll take that too," Gracie sternly demanded. All irritation was gone and in its stead was now alertness and nervousness as they all had theirs eyes wide. Her voice was but fresh in their mind, and the everlasting impression she had made of herself had yet to dissolve.
"I won't repeat myself after this," she cocked her head towards the device they were all crowding around, hooked onto various cables, "the laptop and phone."
They had all only just gotten back on their feet after being floored by the small female, and were considering their best option. As the group shuffled around, unconfident, two males stood tall and made their way around the table, their stature and height overwhelming the females'.
She took a deep breath in, glaring from behind her eyewear and the bandana she wrapped around the lower half of her face.
"It's you again."
Gracie shifted her head to the side, observing the two.
"You really shouldn't be here," Dan tutted, his head angled down as he raised his eyebrows, his expression a knowing one, "how'd you run off from wherever they kept you anyways?"
