Chapter 24

Avni's POV:

My eyes were welled up with the ever ready salt water that threaten to fall out of my pair of eyes at any moment from now. I tried hard not to but then it ditched myself and started pouring down making my face wet.

I found my big heart shaped locket to whom I share my sorrows and happiness which was gifted by my Dad before he bid his final farewell to the world and left to eternal peace. I caressed the locket lovingly reminiscing my memory with my Dad and Mom and our happy family.

At the moment I didn't pay attention to the 5'11" well built man that stood in front of me. It's only me and my Dad. The pain he had in his eyes and then he tried to tell me something which he failed while forwarding this locket with the chain towards me and pressed my hands and left me alone in this world. I brought the neckpiece close to my heart and using my both hands I held it tight.

Neil sir mmm no no Neil ; he insisted me to call him his name rather than calling him sir. He brought his hands towards my shoulders and pressed it on to my shoulders assuring that I will be fine.

" Wanna talk about this ?" Neil asked her wanted to share her pain so that he could help her to relieve some of the painful memories of her past .

' You know this was given by my Dad at his death bed. From that day this locket was my best friend to whom I share all my feelings . I was like a part of me myself. It heard me speaking which others failed to hear , it cried with me and smiled and laughed with me. I don't know where I lost it. I felt myself incomplete without this locket. How did you find it?' Avni asked him.

" Mm that day when we had college party the unfortunate thing happened and then due to the struggle may be the locket fell off . I found that in the floor and I knew that it was yours as I have seen it. "

Neil told Avni while caressing her hair. He knew that he had dig the wound of hers that have been a nightmare of hers. It made her feel like a thrash and plaque but in reality it didn't matter to him.

Seeing her in that pain he felt sorry.

" No Avni no . Don't think of anything wrong. I don't want you to remember that anymore. " He wrapped his arms protectively in her shoulders.

" I love you Avni; you know that right." He hugged her. It made her cry more. She snuggled close to his chest feeling protected in his warmth.

" Avni look at me dear. "Using his index finger he raised her chin to make her look at him.

" You want to forget that event?" Neil asked her.

She noded in a yes.

He held her hands and dragged her. ....

" My boys are arrested . What will I do now? How will I do my success party now?" Chauhan frowned thinking about his loss.

" Boss we will somehow get more packets." A man answered him.

" You all are good for nothing. My boys were awesome. They used to bring top class packets which the guests would be really satisfied."

" Boss we will do our best." The man assured him.

" Go get enough packets for the party. Only few days are left."

" ACP Neil Khanna you haven't done good. I will destroy you." He ran his hands through his hair and punched the table in front of him in frustration.

Avni's house

" Mom where are you?" Rhea called out for her mom. She came back from her work as a part time sales assistant in a nearby shop which Ali helped her . Currently she is the earning member in that family. Even though Avni has told her to withdraw money from her account Rhea refused it . She wanted to earn herself for the family and not to become a burden for her sister once she and her family tortured .

Savitri who have never changed her character was lying on the sofa and watching TV programs.

Rhea shook her head as her mom didn't even notice her and continued watching TV.

Rhea took bath and then went to kitchen to search for food. She was not shocked to find no food as this has been routine.
Sighing she continued to prepare food.

Rhea took food in a plate and started eating. Savitri joined her in table and served herself for eating.

" Mom you could have at least made something. I am coming back from work that too after my college. I am becoming tired."

" Rhea I'm becoming old. I can't cook for all of you. It's your duty to do this " Savitri spoke without any regret as if it's Rhea's duty alone to work and fund for her family.

" You refuses to take money from that girl Avni. Now you suffer. Had we taken that offer we would have live a lavish life by now. " Savitri started complaining.

" Mom aren't you ashamed of your deeds? Why did you fail to realize Avni's goodness. She have only done good for our family always but always we mistreated her. Still she loves all of us and is ready to help us. "

" From when did you start supporting her? I also have been noticing it for some days that you have changed the table. You also find someone like Avni's husband and trap him just like she did."

" Mom stop it . Avni is not like you to trap someone. Because of her good behavior she got someone like Neil. Because of you bringing me up I also traveled in wrong path but not anymore. I started realizing who is who. " with that Rhea took her plate and went to kitchen and washed it.

" Now what will I do ? I have to do something for more money." Savitri talked to herself.

Avni was confused at what Neil told her. Learning the confused expression Neil asked her

" You trust me Avni?"

She placed her hands on his and then conveyed
