Chris's home in Boston is stunning. It's definitely not what you would expect a Hollywood director to have. It's modest and quaint. It's been a week since Derek came out of his coma, everything is going fine with him. The twins thought heavily about staying with Derek or coming with us. Alaina chose to stay with her dad and Elijah just wanted to go to a ballgame. At first he didn't want to go because he thought Derek might get mad that Chris is taking him to his first game. He was wrong, Derek encouraged them both to go, but Alaina wanted to stay.

Chris, Elijah and I landed yesterday and today we're going to a fundraiser event he and his family attend every year. He came last year by himself, we were freshly dating and figured meeting his family was too soon.

"Chris, is Scott going to be there too?" Elijah asks. He and Scott became close when we first met them. He's a sweetheart. "Yeah, bud. He's coming to the game too." My son fist bumps the air mouthing, 'Yes'. "Ma's excited to see you, she was upset when they couldn't make it down. She likes you." Chris says reaching over the console to hold my hand. "Well I like her as well. Now what is this fundraiser event?" I ask as we get closer to his mothers.

"It's more of a charity event. I sort of organize it, its for a local children's hospital." He explains, as if he couldn't be more perfect. "Is it at you mom's or are we just meeting up there?" He explains that the facility is further in town but he always stops at his moms on the way.

We pull up to his childhood home which is equally as stunning as his own. As soon as Chris opens his car door his mom is out the front door. "Christopher, you better have that wonderful girlfriend of yours with you and those two angels." She states as she descends the steps towards us.

"Hi, Mrs. Roberts." I say climbing out of the car, to which I'm met by her and her open arms. She hugs me tightly, she gives a proper mom hug. "Now Maggie I've told you call me Lisa or mom." She squeezes my shoulders and smiles before walking over to Elijah. "Where's your counterpart?" She asks him. "She stayed at home with our dad." Elijah tells her. "Is Scott here, Gramma Lisa?" He asks her. She smiles and nods, to which Elijah takes off running into the house. "He sure does like Scott, it's a good thing cause not many do." My eyes go wide looking at her. "MA!" Chris shouts. "Oh, stahhp it. I'm kidding. Come on, Snacks before we leave." She says pulling us with her walking back into her house.

We're all standing around her kitchen island as Lisa tells stories of Scott and Chris. "Wait, how old were you when this peeing your pants incident occurred?" I ask Chris. "Bro, you don't want to know." He laughs. "Oh no tell her Chris. I was eleven and he was thirteen. It wasn't funny because Stephanie Gillis saw me. I never lived it down and it followed me through high school." Scott answers my question. "Chris! You were a mean big brother. I'm glad I didn't meet mine until way later." Lisa and Scott give me a look of confusion.

I explain to them about Simon. "Wait, you have a gay brother as well? Marry her now, Chris." Scott jokes. We all laugh and Chris looks at his phone. "Well lets get going, I don't wanna be late." Chris states clapping his hands together.

Walking up to this event feels like a red carpet. I didn't realize there was going to be so many photographers here. Chris grips my hand as his mom walks behind us with Scott and Elijah. People are shouting out Chris's name and he stops pulls me in close to his side and smiles as simultaneously flashes go off. "I thought this was a small charity event?" I whisper while still smiling. "This is small compared to some. If you're uncomfortable, we'll leave right now." He says to me as we are moving again.

"No, I'm just a little taken back by all of it. Remember I'm a small town girl who just barely made it through that movie premiere." He leans down and kisses my cheek causing a few cheers to erupt. There's a small stage set up and I notice we are walking right towards it. Lisa, Scott, myself and Elijah stand just to the side of the stage as Chris walks up on it. "Hey, how's everybody doing?" He asks and gets loud cheers in response. "Great, I wanna thank all of you for coming out today. It not only means a lot to me but to the kids as well. Now as usual my brother will be our auctioneer this evening. Bid wisely and good luck." He concludes and joins on the sidelines as Scott takes his place on stage now with Elijah at his side.
