"Maggie, I need your planning skills. Help me!" Laura shouts walking into the office. "Good afternoon to you to Laura." Graham states looking up from his computer. "Liv, said you had everything under control. What's left to do?" I ask her as she takes a seat across from me. "Well, food and music. You're just a pro at this and every party you've thrown has been amazing." I quickly jot down some caterers I use and the DJ I've used from time to time. I hand it over to her, "Tell them I referred you."
"Thanks. So what's this I hear you and Derek were hanging out at Duke's and you two were actually laughing." I hate small towns. "I was discussing a big decision with him. And there was alcohol. But there's nothing to read into so stop it." I tell her and she smiles.
"Well I'm heading out ladies enjoy the rest of your day. I have a tee time." Graham says leaving. He's probably got a tee time with Derek. Let's see it's Tuesday, meaning it's happy hour at the course bar.
Derek's POV----------------------------------
I meet Graham for one of our tee times for the week. We try to go every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
The other night at the bar with Maggie was, amazing. It was like old times. I miss her so much.
I see Graham pull in and sling my golf bag over my shoulder. "We have to talk man." He says right away. "About?" I ask as we walk in, pay and grab a golf cart. "You and Maggie were getting along at Duke's?" Man, gotta love small towns. "Yeah, who knows how long it will last." We make our way to driving range to warm up. "Well now isn't that up to you? But she says she was discussing a big decision."
"She wants to move in with Chris and give me the house." Graham looks over at me as I angrily swing my driver, loving the ping sound as the ball soars. "He's good to her and the kids, Derek." I know he's right but I secretly want them to break up. "Yeah, I know. He's helping to open doors for Bailey. Fuck man, he knows things about my kids before I do. I just, I want her back."
Graham shakes his head and tees his ball and gets ready to swing. "Derek, you messed things up with her. Only you could have fixed it. But you filed the divorce papers, signed and sent them to her. What else was she to do? You broke her and now you're mad because another man is picking up the pieces and putting her back together, stronger than ever." Wow, he's certainly not sugar coating a damn thing.
"Graham, I never wanted to hurt her. I just, can't keep it in my damn pants sometimes. I had everything with her. I fucked up and she hates me now, but she is trying so hard to be normal. I should too. It's just so hard to be around her and not be able to hold her and kiss her." Graham grips my shoulder, "Bro, I know you love her, but it's over, It doesn't matter now I mean it's never easy to walk away, but you have to let her go. It'll be alright"
He's right, If I'm going to prove I ever loved her I need to let go and let her be happy. Even if it's Chris who is the one making her happy.
Maggie's POV------------------------------------
Jared's Party- Atlanta- Tongue and Groove.
Ian and Faith took on the responsibility of watching all the kids for us adults. Laura managed to book Tongue and Groove for Jared's birthday. Chris is waiting in Atlanta for us, luckily he was able to make it and he gets to stay for a week. That way he could help move me in, I've already packed everything I want to take with me. Chris said we can buy the kids new beds.
I'm currently in a car with Graham, Simon, and Derek. Which surprisingly has been ok. Derek called me a few nights ago and it was nice. He wanted to know what all I would be taking. Which I'm basically taking clothes, shoes, pictures, artwork, and little trinkets.
