Breathe Again

You're a Liar

Once you're past thirty you can't party like you once did in your twenties. I have a splitting headache and I'm incredibly dizzy. I don't remember coming home. I look around and remember I'm LA. I notice Chris isn't next to me so I grab my phone checking the time. It's only seven. I don't remember getting into my pajammas, but I'm guessing it was a mess. 

After washing my face adn brushing my teeth I head downstairs. Eli and Lainey are already outback soaking up the California sun by the pool. I hear someone in the kitchen and go see who it is. Derek. "Where's Chris?" I ask him. He hands me a cup of coffee, "Went for a run. You feeling ok?" I nod and take my coffee back upstairs. I need to soak my sore old ass body in the tub. 

Ten minutes into my soak Chris comes into the room. Immediately I know something is bothering him. He's quite and heads right into the shower without saying a word to me. I try to remember last night and I can't. The water stops and he gets out and smiles at me before wrapping a towel around his torso. Before I can anything he walks out of the bathroom. I unplug the tub and wrap own body up in a towel and follow him.

"Alright, spill. What did I do last night?" I ask him as he sits in his chair in the corner of the room fully dressed. How the fuck does he get ready so quick? "Let's not get into this now I have to go to work." I shake my head and kneel down infront of him placing my hands on knees. "Baby, you have to tell me." I plead with him. "Maggie, after I put you to bed which wasn't easy given your lifeless state. You said to me, I love you Derek." I stand up quickly.

"No, I did not." He nods his head, "Yeah, you did. We'll talk abou it later." He says and stands up grabbing his keys. "No we won't becasue I never said that. You're a liar." I shout at him. He looks up at the ceiling and takes a deep breath, "Maggie, I'am not lying. When I get home then we'll talk. Ok, I love you I gotta go." He leans in to kiss me but I move away. I'm so pissed right now. He sighs and leaves. How could he ever think I would say that to him. I don't love Derek like that anymore.

I get dressed and head downstairs. Derek is still in the kitchen cleaning up. I slam my coffee mug on the counter and let out a big sigh. "What's going on? He left in a bad mood." Derek asks leaning on the counter beside me. I back up and lean back on the island across from him. "He seems to have it in his mind that when he put me to bed I said  I love you DEREK! I wouldnt say that!" He says nothing but he shakes his head.

"What?" I snap. "I wasn't in the room so I'm not sure, but when he came down he looked a little hurt and bothered by something. He told he what you said and I told him not to look too much into it and to not bring it up. But then he was all like we don't keep secrets I laughed he didn't then he thought there was something going on between us. He wouldn't bring it up if it wasn't true." With that said he heads outback with the twins. 

I text Bailey and ask her if she has class today. She says no but she is on set with Chris and I should come have lunch with her. I tell her I'll be by around noon for lunch. "Go see him." Derek says coming in for some water.  "I think I may wind up seeing him anyway since Bailey invited me to lunch and she's with Chris. I'll be back." I head into the living room to grab my purse and keys. I let Bailey know I'm coming and to send me directions.

I get to the location and search for her. I call her and she says she will come to me. I wait by a maze of trailers keeping a watchful eye out for her. "MOM!" I hear Bailey shout and I spot her coming out between two trailers. "What are you doing here?" I hug her. "Chris is showing me some behind the scenes stuff. Come one we can eat in Chris's trailer." We start walking through all the trailers. "I got us some chinese from the catering tent, is that cool?" She asks. "Yeah, thank you." We reach the trailer that says 'Director'. "Is he in there?" She shakes her head as she opens the door.
