Ruby's POV

Ruby and her two friends Jaune and Pyrrha, continued to make their way to vale's western harbor while at the same time looking into businesses and stores along the way in search of Blake or any street crooks. It was way past noon and the sun was almost near the end of today's cycle.

Ruby: I do hope Maks is ok, it's supposed to be his first mission and he's doing it alone without a team.

Ruby mumbles to herself out loud but is taken out of it when Jaune replies back hearing her worried words.

Jaune: Pffft this is Maks you're talking about, the same guy who overpowered and threatened a trained huntress. He's probably doing just fine.

Pyrrha: Yes Ruby, I've seen a lot of great and determined warriors in my time and I have to say my mentor would've been impressed with the strength and determination Maks possesses.

Ruby continues to walk forward in thought about her gone friend and missing teammate, her black boots hitting the ground and emitting the sound of rubber hitting against the pavement until the sound changed into a grave crunch without her noticing.

Pyrrha: Watch out!!!

Roughly her friend Pyrrha grabbed onto her cape and pulled Ruby out of the direction she was walking.

*blaring truck horn wizzes by*

Ruby fell down onto the ground landing on her butt on the side of a gravel road. A massive truck fastly drives by almost hitting her.

Jaune: Ruby are you ok! How the heck did you not see you were walking into a road?!

Pyrrha: Calm down Jaune, she's just worried about her friends. It's understandable.

Ruby: Hehe yea sorry about that, I'll look both ways next time.

Jaune and Pyrrha both extend out an arm and help Ruby back up onto her feet. Once back up on her feet Ruby looked around the area they were in and analyzed the surroundings. Behind their backs was the ruralish end of vale's city and in front of them was a gravel road that kinda acted as the borderline between vale's huge western wooden platform that acted as a harbor/shipping area. There were metal warehouses dotted around the place probably containing government shipments and supplies. There were also men dressed in yellow neon working clothes picking up and moving large wooden and metal boxes. For the wooden boxes, they used things like trucks or just carried them if they were small enough. For the huge metal containers, they used one tall crane to grab them and move them into areas where they would be attached to a Bullhead or boat and then moved out. The area is also blocked off from the road by a tall barbed-wire fence.

Ruby took a deep breath of the air. Scents like rotting fish and sea salt flooded her nostrils and almost made her gag. Ruby was just about to complain when suddenly glass breaking could be heard. All three students looked in the direction of the sound and spotted a group of five workers sloppily walking into one of the warehouses through the fence, they were laughing loudly and leaning against each other while going inside the iron doors.

Jaune narrows his eyes in their direction while placing his right foot on a small wooden box and elbow on knee. He rests his chin on his knuckles and does a thinking motion.

Jaune: They allow their workers to drink while working? Something smells fishy.

Pyrrha: I think it's that box of fish guts your stepping on.
