After a long few days all I wanted to do was just spend the entire day in bed taking naps and watching Netflix with Toni. I grabbed my phone to see an unread text from Jug. It said he and Betty found some information on Hiram and to meet them at Pops at 10:00 it was now 9:30 so I got out of bed quietly leaving Toni to sleep. Locked the door behind me and got into my car.
I stopped off at my trailer to take a quick shower and to change my clothes. I decided to take my motorcycle since it's been a while since I've ridden it. And then I make my way to Pop's. I walk inside and see Jug and Betty sitting in a corner booth. And on the other side of Pops I see Hermione working. "Really out of all the places we could have met you chose here? Hermione is right over there." I say to Jug.
"Don't worry it's packed she can't hear. I'll keep an eye on her." Jug responds. "So Jug and I have went through court records, police records, we did digging on his company and we came up with this." Betty says as she slides a small laptop in front of me. I start scrolling through things. "Ok so what does this mean?"
"Well according to court records Hiram is sitting on death row on Rikers Island. Apparently he was convicted of killing 7 NYPD officers over a 2 year period. And he's there for money laundering and 3 attempted murders on top of the murder convictions." Betty explains.
"Holy shit the dude is hardcore. I still don't understand why dad was so hell bent on me staying away from him. I'm not involved in shit like that I might break the law but never on a level like that." I explain to Jug and Betty.
"Well whatever you do you can breathe easily he's never getting out of prison alive. In fact he's next in line for an execution date. The NYPD want him dead and fast." Jughead says taking a drink from his milkshake.
I take a deep breath I feel a weight off my shoulders. "I guess I'll just have to wait for dad to get home and explain himself."
"Close the laptop Hermione is coming." Betty says grabbing for the computer. "Good morning Jade, Jughead and Betty what can I get you today?" Betty and Jug give Hermione their order. I glance over the menu.
"Can you split the bill I'm on my own but I'll take pancakes and bacon, the bacon crispy and extra whipped cream on the pancakes. And then later can you put in an order to go I'll take two burgers and two fries. A thing of ranch on the side and then a strawberry milkshake and a vanilla milkshake." She smiles and writes down my order. "I'll get that put in for you."
"Thank you" I respond.
"Damn hungry much?" Jughead chuckles "shut up the to go order is for Toni and I later. I didn't eat last night so I'm kinda hungry."
