"Clean breaks," Gary said on the phone, "Clean breaks, baby. On my tailbone and leg and knee."
"What's the expense?" I asked.
"I overheard the doctors say two grand but I could be wrong."
"Man," I said into the phone. "That's quite a bit. I'll go to the bank to grab some. See you later, Darling."
"Yeah, you too,"
"Bye."
"G'bye."
"See, Mom. I told you. Our family has bad luck without the egg and good luck with it," Victoria said.

"I want everyone to be nice to everyone. That's the rule in this household. If you want to do otherwise, you may leave." I immediately regretted what I said immediately. "Actually, don't leave but you follow my rules or else."
"Oaw ewse," Rosey repeated.
"I promise," I said, ready for my kids to repeat.
"I promise," they said synchronized.
"...that I will be nice to everyone, and do my chores," I smiled.
"...that I will be nice to everyone, and mm mmm mm mmm m," they said.
"I'm kidding," I said. "But I hope you help out some."
