The dragon was massive. It was a dark red with yellow bumps down it's back. It was more than 100 feet tall and had toes that were longer than me. It had wings that were about the same size as his body. I drew a picture in my mind. Wow. That would earn a lot of money.

I decided right away to call the dragon Ezra. Ezra flapped his way right on top of the man. I don't think he survived. The dragon bent his head down, motioning me and all of my kids on. Gary was home now, too. We all carefully slid onto the back of the dragon and rubbed its soft scales. When we were all aboard it flew us out of the town and to the ocean.

We had been flying for days when the dragon began to slow in the middle of the ocean. Below me was an island. Ezra swooped down and landed on the beach of the tropical islet. The palm leaves shook with the breeze and waves splashed onto the shore. I closed my eyes and pinched my arm. Stop dreaming, Mary, I told myself. I felt dizzy and fell into the sand.

When I finally did wake up I expected to be on a nice mattress at home but I was still lying on the beach. The dragon was next to me, purring. I was scared to death. The dragon was surely not real. But it was.

I was awake for that whole night, pondering what to do. I was here on an island with my family, and a beast with fangs is next to me. Why am I not freaking out? I have no idea.

That morning, I rose with Sierra, who was begging to play in the ocean. Rosey got her period and was on a bad mood swing. It was bad. She was angry at everyone for no particular reason. It turns out Tim got to this island by the dragon too. He must've been picked up before. There was just one question on my mind. Why was all of this happening?
