You laughed as you followed the rest of the kids in your village to the village square, waiting for a traveling magician to finally arrive. You were amazed with magicians, and always went to watch their show even though everyone said you were a young woman since you were 15 and were going to get married soon.

You smiled as you watched the magician walk out of his little traveling wagon, his coats fluttering around his thin frame. You were surprised that he looked around the same age as you. How could he live by himself, never once settling down in a village? You thought to yourself as he set up his stage, watching him put up his props for his magic tricks.

You watched his magic tricks in awe, surprised that someone could actually do these feats of magic. He was making doves and flowers appear out of nowhere, even making a rabbit disappear. For his last trick, he needed a volunteer to perform it. Everyone around you were bouncing up and down, hoping for him to pick them. You blushed slightly as he picked you, though, walking through the crowd to take your hand and lead you back to his little stage.

You were nervous as to what he was going to have you do, but you also trusted him. You barely even knew him yet his kind, crimson eyes soothed you, making you trust in him.

"For my last trick," He said in a smooth, confident tone, "I am going to make this young woman disappear!" He proclaimed, earning cheers and gasps from the crowd. He gave you a small, reassuring smile as he guided you to a towering box, which you stepped inside of.

The box was pitch black on the inside once he closed the door. You stood there, starting to become nervous once more. You heard cheers and hollers from the crowd moments later and you were confused, thinking you would be able to see them. Then you realized, that he already performed the trick and that you vanished from your original spot. You smile to yourself, amazed that he actually pulled the trick off.

Minutes passed before you finally saw sunlight again as the magician opened the box door once again and you were back in your village. You noticed that the crowd of people left already and that the magician was packing up his belongings already. He smiled as you stepped out, grabbing both of your hands and holding onto them tightly.

"You are just magnificent, my dear girl. I hope you could stay with me and be my assistant, helping me with my tricks of magic." He asked you, a glimmer of hope shining in those crimson eyes of his. You laughed and nodded.

"I would love to be your assistant, kind magician. It's been a dream of mine to learn magic." You replied softly, gently moving your hands out of his grip and helping him pack up his traveling wagon.
