❛ ʏᴇʀɪɴ ❜

I've been locked up in my room ever since I woke up. Why?

Work. Fucking work.

It's enough trouble to handle my boss's own affairs, and now I've got to help the planning department for their next project. Sometimes, I think he makes me do all of these on purpose.

I even had to have both breakfast and lunch in my room, which is something I rarely do. Luckily, I'm almost finished with the reports now and I can finally get out of the boundary created by the walls of my room. I need to, since I've got to help my brother with dinner today.

"Yerin! There you are!" He said, as soon as I entered the kitchen. Smell of delicious food entered my nose, and I immediately felt hungry. "How can I help you?" I asked, roaming around.

"I've done pretty much everything but do you think you can make the salad?" He asked.

"Sure," I said. Looking around, I saw that my brother had made my, and his friends' favourite dishes. We all loved his cooking.

"I'm done," I said, after mixing the salad well. "Good. Now, cook the rice please?" He replied not taking his eyes off the Kimchi.

''Okay," I said, and got to work.

After I was finished with the rice, Jin oppa said, "You did enough, sis. Go tidy yourself up. They'll be here soon."

Just as I was went to my room, I got a text from Jimin.

"Minji and I are officially a couple now! Thank you so much for your help."

I sent him a quick 'you're welcome' and a 'congrats'. Just then, I got a call.

"Did you hear?" Taehyung's voice was overflowing with happiness.

I replied, ''Just did. I'm so happy for them."

He said, "Same here. Guess I need to find a girlfriend soon, too."

I chuckled. "Keep searching. I'm always here to help you."

"You are?" He asked. There was the same seriousness in his voice that I had heard in his car. It gave me a weird feeling. And I'm pretty sure people called it 'butterflies in the stomach.'

"Of course," I promised.

It had been about an hour since Yoongi, Hoseok and Namjoon Oppa had reached our house. Seeing my brother laugh openly with them made me feel happy. He deserved to enjoy his own life like this. The four guys had met in college. They all clicked, most probably because of their same preferences in everything.

They were all like elder brothers to me. Sometimes seeing Yoongi and Hoseok oppa together made me wonder how they loved each other so deeply, despite being so different.

Hoseok oppa was literally the living embodiment of sunshine. He always managed to light up everything with his smile.

On the contrary, Yoongi oppa wasn't... what's the best way to put it? As loud as his boyfriend.

His smile was cute and gummy, and he could easily be the 'swag master' if he wanted to. He was quieter and could be lazy sometimes, but we enjoyed his company nonetheless.

"Can we please have dinner now? I'm starving," Namjoon oppa's request caused us all to laugh. "And the smell isn't helping, either," Hoseok Oppa added.

"Sure. Let's go," said my brother. Yoongi oppa's phone rang and he motioned the others to go, "You guys go on. I'll take the call and join you."

As Jin oppa started serving food, Yoongi oppa rushed to the dining room and said, "My brother is coming to our house. He doesn't know we're not there."

Jin oppa replied quickly, "Tell him to come here."

Seeing Yoongi oppa just staring at him blankly, he said, "What? We have enough food!"

He called his brother and walked out of the room. ''Oppa, I'm really not hungry right now. Can I eat a bit later?"

Before my brother could say anything, Hoseok oppa gave the answer teasingly, "Of course you can. But you have to keep Yoongi's brother company!"

I considered it for a second and replied, "I can manage with that."

If only I'd known back then how much regret this decision would cause.

As I had decided to eat with Yoongi oppa's brother later, I made Jin oppa eat with the others while I served food instead of him. Just as I returned after keeping the dishes in the kitchen, I heard the doorbell ring.

"I'll open it," I boomed, not wanting to ruin the fun the guys were having in the living room. As I opened the door, my eyes met the most surprising sight ever.

There stood before me, my annoyingly handsome boss.

"Just come to Jin's house. You know the address, right?" He asked me over the phone.

"I do. See you," I said and ended the call. It wasn't everyday I saw my brother, although we both lived in the same city — Seoul. My work just held me back from everything.

"I had to reschedule to visit him and his boyfriend, and now he's at his friend's?"

I couldn't blame him, though. They've all been best friends since college. And for that reason, I've visited Jin hyung's place many times.

But, unfortunately, I've not been there in the last three years or so.

I rang the doorbell, waiting for someone to open up. It took a whole minute before the door opened... only to reveal the same person with whom I observed every day at the office.

It was Kim Yerin, my secretary.

We stared at each other for a moment. Then we both blurted out at the same time, "What are you doing here?"
