"Hyeri, we need to talk about something important." I said, and Hyeri took a seat in front of me.
"Of course." She said, understanding my seriousness.
"In the past month, I got to know a lot about you. And you're so much more than what you seem." I said, my heart thumping in my chest.
Was I doing the right thing?
"You've loved me unconditionally; but I couldn't do so. And I won't be able to do so." I said, my gaze averted from Hyeri's.
I was too afraid to see the pain in her eyes.
"Please forgive me, Hyeri," I finished. "But you deserve someone who can give you true love."
I finally looked up to see tears forming in her eyes. It felt like a knife had just gone through my heart.
"It's okay, Jungkook. I knew it from the beginning." She said. "But I'm glad I had this month in my life; it taught me who I truly was."
"You deserve someone better, too." Her voice trembled. ''And I'm sure you'll find her soon."

"Jungkook-ah?" Jimin Hyung's voice startled me, breaking my chain of thoughts.
"Yeah?" I said hastily.
"Minji told me to inform you that Yerin won't be coming to office today." He said. "She has a headache."
"Oh, okay. Thank you for informing."
He nodded and left.
A headache again? I remembered the last time she had a headache. It didn't turn out well. Was she okay?
I tried to focus on work, but just didn't manage to do so, all day long. Finally, in the evening, I realized I wouldn't be able to work at all if I didn't know she was alright.
So, I got out of the office, and made my way towards her house, this time on foot. I made sure to leave my coat and put on a hoodie, so that she didn't recognize me easily.
I reached her house, and found out that the lights in her room were on. After a while, I saw her walking up to the window, and looking out to the spot where my car was usually parked.
