Back in the present, both Link and Neji were staring at Zelda in awe. They were surprised to hear how she became Sheik. But even more surprised to find out how the princess felt towards Link back then.

Feeling a nudge on his arm, Link turned his head to see Neji giving him a suggestive look. The young teen leaned close to Link's ear. "Are you happy that she likes you back?"

Link never felt so embarrassed in his life. Pushing Neji away from him, he turned his face away, unable to tell what his expression was. "Shut up."

Neji wasn't going to stop there. "I mean... The princess is a very lovely lady as well as awesome. I can see why you like her so much."

Steam started coming out from Link's ears. He was so embarrassed, but more angry than anything. "I swear to Hylia if you don't shut your damn mouth..."

"Link." Zelda called out, having him turn to her. "After hearing my story, I have to ask. What will you do now?"

Lowering his head, Link shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know where to go." He knew he had committed so many sins, killing people in cold blood. Is there truly a way for him to atone for his actions?

"Well... My current bodyguard is planning to retire soon. I could always have you serve under me." Zelda responded, her face soon dropping. "If only if it were that easy."

Understanding what she meant, Link nodded. "I know. It would be an outrage if the Princess of Hyrule took in Ganondorf's former assassin who so happened to kill the Goron leader."

Instead of responding right away, Zelda stood up from her seat, walking over to Link. Standing in front of him, she raised her hand in the air, slapping him hard across the face.

Neji, who was watching the entire time, quickly stood up from his seat. "Uh... I'm going to get more firewood." Not even a second, he rushed out of there.

He was not going to get in between this lovers' quarrel.

Link felt the spot where Zelda had slapped him. He wasn't mad. In all honesty, he felt like he deserved that. All those times when he spilled blood when it wasn't necessary, he deserved every last punishment there was.

Zelda looked visibly angry, crossing her arms. "Even if it wasn't your own intention, what you did was wrong. The new Goron leader, Daruk, is wanting an eye for an eye. He's out to get you for what you've done to Darunia."

Back then, Link severely injured a lot of Gorons, but didn't kill them. He only killed Darunia. Now he has an entire race against him. "I'm aware. I was prepared to hear that news sooner or later."

"As of recently, I tried to make him understand, but he didn't want to hear any of it. If you want to try to atone for your sins, the best solution is to face them."
