About a week has passed since then. It felt like Link had concluded the chapter from his past. He managed to get the Biggoron's Sword back from Ganondorf's hideout. He returned it to the Gorons, fulfilling his promise. Even if the Gorons had forgiven him, it would take some time for them to trust him.

What Zelda had whispered to him back then, his last hope for the Gorons of possibly forgiving him. "You can... Dress like a dancer and entertain them."

There was no way in hell Link would ever do anything like that. That was asking too much. He would rather get beaten up by the Goron leader. Luckily, it never had to come down to that. Much to Link's relief.

The blood on his hands would never truly go away, but he couldn't let that hold him down for the rest of his life. Even though it was hard, Link had to strive forward.

He had a future now. With Neji and Zelda. Zelda. He never got another chance to say what he needed to say to her. Link has been so busy lately that this was the first time in a while that he had free time.

Shooting an arrow at a target, Link managed to hit the bull's eye. He was about to shoot another one until...

"This sure takes me back." Turning his head, Link saw Zelda walking towards him. Her hair was softly blowing against the wind along with her dress. "Remember that time?"

Link nodded with a smile. "Of course. How could I forget?"

"May I see the bow?" Link handed her the bow, watching her pick up an arrow. Aiming the arrow towards the target, Zelda released the arrow with ease. Bull's eye.

Handing Link back the bow, he started chuckling under his breath. "Trying to one-up me?"

Zelda shook her head while giggling. "Of course not." That almost sounded sarcastic.

Still laughing, Link took a glimpse at Zelda, being reminded of the past. He saw a vision of her younger self next to her, remembering the day he first met her.

She looked beautiful back then, and looked beautiful even now. After all this time, Link could never get her out of his head. Always thinking about her even in his darkest times.

After getting to know her even more, his childhood crush had grown into adult love.

"Zelda."

Catching her attention, Zelda looked at him with her blue bell eyes. "Yes, Link?"

Rubbing the back of his head in a shy manner, a slight blush appeared on his face. "I've been meaning to say this to you for quite sometime. Ever since we met, I had a crush on you. Seeing each other again after all this time, and getting to know you more..." Link was starting to get shy, but pushed himself to proceed. "I realized along the way that it wasn't just a crush. I feel like it's more than that. I... I love you, Zelda."

Zelda stood there speechless. It felt like her knees could give out. A bright red blush appeared on her face, she couldn't even let out one word. It was obvious enough that she felt the same way.

Meeting that day was fate. Meeting again after not seeing each other for years, fate had brought them together once more. They were like two halves in a whole that had found their way back to each other.

Not able to hold back anymore, Zelda wrapped her arms around his neck, colliding on his lips with hers.

Taken by surprise, Link was blushing like crazy, unable to process that the princess was kissing him. It felt more like a dream than reality.

Breaking the kiss, Zelda gave him a sweet smile, giving him the obvious answer. "I love you too, Link."

Link felt like he was on cloud nine. "You have no idea how long I wanted this to happen."

"Do you dream about it as well?"

Averting his eyes, Link started to feel embarrassed. "Maybe..." Placing his hands on her waist, he looked deep into her eyes. This time, Zelda was taken by surprise. "May we kiss again, Princess?"

Feeling her face heat up, Zelda shyly smiled. "You may."

Leaning his face closer to hers, the two shared another loving kiss. The princess and the assassin- former assassin, stood there for the longest time while embracing their love. Their love was the result of a miracle. A miracle that will lead them to a brighter future.
