Just to clarify, you and Roger are roommates. 💕

"Rog!"
"Y/n, it's 2 in the morning, why are you still up?"
"I want to go for a drive."
"I want to go to bed."
"Fine, I'll just go to the diner alone then."
"Wait, the diner?" Roger shot up and rubbed his eyes. I nodded and he grinned.
"Why didn't you say so?" he rolled out of bed and I went to my room, pulling on a coca-cola shirt and some leggings. I didn't bother with makeup, the only important person that was going to see me was Roger, and he'd seen me without it before.

"Ready to go?" he asked and I nodded, jumping into his car while he started it up. The radio blared "Talk Dirty to Me" by Poison and I began singing as we drove off.
"You're too young and innocent to be singing a song like this, aren't you?" Roger glanced at me and I pouted.
"I'm literally two months younger than you."
"Exactly. Do you see me singing?" he asked, mock seriousness in his voice.
"Fine, I'll just be annoying." I said, and he sighed.
"God, what have I done?"

His eyes focused on the dark road, as I grabbed at his left arm.
"Rog. Rog. Rog. Hold my hand."
"What?"
"Ughhh."
I grabbed his hand and placed it under my chin, leaning on it.
"Weirdo." He shook his head and chuckled.
"Forgive me for wanting affection." I raised an eyebrow and edged closer to roger.
"What are you doing?"
"Being annoying."
"You haven't annoyed me so far." He smirked a little and my cheeks heated up.

We pulled into the car park of the diner and Roger shut the engine off.
"Are we getting out or what?" I asked, and subconsciously rubbed my thumb along Roger's hand.
"Not yet. Tell me what's going on, y/n. That wasn't you just being annoying."
"What are you trying to say?" I asked, doing my best to avoid eye contact.
"I think we both know, y/n." He turned my head to face him and I looked down.
"Look at me, y/n."
Reluctantly I met my eyes with his and felt myself going red.
"Fine, Rog! If you really want to know, I'm in love with you and I have been for ages, pretty much since we met. Now that you've got that out of me, I'd better go, considering I just fucking ruined everything. Bye."
"Y/n, I-"
I pulled away from his grip and grabbed my bag, jumping out of the car, then I began running. Away from the diner, away from the car, away from Roger. To the only place I wanted to be right now.
The cliff looked out onto the city and I sat in the grass, picking up tiny chunks of gravel and dirt, and throwing them over.
"Thought I might find you here."
I sighed and put my head in my hands, turning away from Roger who sat down next to me.
"Don't bother with whatever you're about to do, Rog. I don't want your sympathy." I muttered into my hands and started to stand up, but Roger grabbed my wrist and stopped me in my tracks.
"Look at me. I mean it."
He said it in such an assertive yet shaky tone, and it compelled me to let our eyes meet again. His were glistening in the light of the moon, and mine were almost definitely bloodshot from crying.
"If you'd just let me finish, I would've told you that I'm in love with you too. I've loved you since the first moment I saw you. But no, your sorry ass had to run away as if I couldn't love you." He smiled and I laughed through my tears, edging closer to him.
"Can I sit next to you?" I asked, and he pulled me up close, lacing his hand together with mine.
"Stop acting like we've only just met. Of course you can. You were literally sitting on my bed about an hour ago." He smiled and kissed the top of my head, before we both retreated quickly.
"Oh."
"Oh."
"Sorry, i didn't-"
"No, it's fine. I mean, I liked it, I-"
He cut me off by slamming his lips against mine, kissing me as if I was the antidote to his poison. His hands held my body close and we pulled away, the taste of his lips lingering on mine.
"Wow. Thanks."
"You're the most awkward person ever. Did you just thank me for a kiss?" Roger laughed and wrapped an arm around me.
"In that case, it's my pleasure. I'll be glad, anytime." He placed a softer kiss on my cheek and I lay my head on his shoulder.
"Rog?"
"yeah, babe?"
I smiled at the pet name.
"I have a question."
"What's that?"
"Can we still go to the diner?"
"That's the most sensible thing you've said all night, darling. Come on, get up, we'll go and get breakfast."
