Caitlin's POV

It looks like they're about to walk past me. Why are they just ignoring me? Oh no, am I going to be ignored for the rest of my high school exper-

"Hey Caitlin!" I looked up to see the green eyes of the boy.

"Oh!" I snapped myself out of my thoughts so I wouldn't seem like a complete fool. "Hey Barry... and...?" I still didn't know her name. It's not like i wanted to know her name, but I was trying to be polite.

"Patty." She waits a couple seconds. "Spivot. Patty Spivot." And then Barry's just gushing and smiling all weird and I can't help but think something is happening between them.

Now I was the odd one out because the both of them seemed happy, and my outward appearance must have been 'hard to approach'. Granted, that is usually how I am. To match their expressions I put on a best selling smile. "Nice to meet you Patty." Lie.

"You too— I mean, we've been in the same classes since I've got here, which was two years ago— but yeah nice to meet you." She didn't need to say all of that, but the smile she had on her face made me not take it so personally.

"Umm... well we're all in the same group, so why don't we sit together? We should start this as soon as possible." Barry broke the awkward silence so easily that it seemed he'd been in this situation before.

"Uh, good idea Barr." I don't like this girl because I feel threatened by her a bit. I mean, I'm not threatened, but the plan I have set is. I wish she'd shut up with that stupid soft voice of hers. I don't know why I'm being so mean right now, this is not me.

"Do you guys want to sit with my friend Cisco?" I thought I should be friendly, to make a good impression on Barry at least. Although, I think I already have judging by the compliment he gave me in science class last week. "He's just over there." I point with my thumb in the direction, briefly pointing towards Cisco.

"Yeah, Cisco's cool. He's my friend too." Barry said, directing the statement to Patty. I could tell since he wouldn't take his eyes off her eyes. I squinted at the both of them, mostly angered by this Spivot girl. Dang Caitlin, get a hold of yourself, stop being so mean.

"Well then, sure. Why not?" Patty breathed out.

We'd made it to the table and I began introducing Cisco to Patty. Maybe it'd be best if Barry did it since he was the mutual friend... Well he isn't doing it, so I will. "Cisco, this is Patty Spivot. Patty, this is Cisco Ramon, my very loved bestfriend." I smile towards Cisco, and hold back a glare from Patty.

She nodded. "Hey Cisco." She paused a moment. "Hey, nice shirt!"

Cisco looked down at his shirt, and so did I. It was a simple black shirt, with FBI on it. In smaller letters beneath the FBI it said 'Funny, Beautiful, Intelligent'. He completely missed the opportunity for it to say 'Force by Intelligence'... I really have to protest watching Star Wars marathons with Cisco more often.

"Oh thanks," Cisco said. "You interested in police work?"

Patty nodded. "Yeah, I'm enrolling into the academy after school."

"Really?" Barry asked in disbelief.

"Mhm," Patty replied.

I just looked between everyone at the table. I felt kind of out of place. I was never interested in this. I waited for the conversation to end before speaking.

"Barry, grab lunch with me?" I asked sweetly.

"Oh. Sure." He stood up and crossed his arms. I smiled to him, and when he wasn't looking, glared at Patty. I'm pretty sure Cisco saw it, out of my peripheral vision I saw Cisco's face distort in confusion. I quickly looked at him from the corner of my eye until I felt Barry's eyes on me again. I smiled at him.
