You and Soobin were probably the most inseparable buddies when you were kids. Both of you would do everything together, from buying snacks at the nearest convenience store to causing trouble around the neighborhood. You're impossible to break apart to the point that one of you will bail on doing something unless one of you will do it too. You have no idea how stressful it i Is for your moms to think of any ideas of separate you for a little while without causing problems.
The beginning of your friendship with Soobin started when you moved in at Soobin's neighborhood. Soobin found you playing on the sandbox alone. Being the kind kid Soobin is, he plays with you at the sandbox.
You had a great time with Soobin. You thanked him for playing with you. You thought that he lives on another neighborhood, thinking that you won't see him again. Luckily, you caught Soobin going inside the houses at your neighborhood.
Eversince, you and Soobin had become the best of friends and the sandbox became your meeting place. You and Soobin would go to the sandbox to play, to eat snacks, and even doing your homeworks even though the sandbox is the least comfortable place to do homeworks but that doesn't stop you both from doing so.
Both of you attended the same elementary school. You're delighted to have Soobin as your classmate. Even though both of you are transferees, you explored the school and knew the do's and don'ts side by side.
Of course, since school is different from the sandbox, you and Soobin earned friends. You earned friends of your own and Soobin earned friends of his. School is a huge place and too much enough just for two persons unlike the sandbox, where you can own it to yourselves anytime.
So yeah, you earned friends but you're not close to them as you're close to Soobin. Your connection with Soobin is different with your connection to others, youe connection with Soobin is rather stronger.
Your mom will always tell you to find other friends than Soobin. She'll always tell you that Soobin won't be there with you always but you don't believe her, Soobin is not that kind of friend. That's what you'll always say.
As a kid, you always believe and defend at the idea that Soobin will not leave you as your mom said.
Then puberty hits.
Unluckily for you, puberty hits you at the face with pimples and an oily face. You never got the good kind of hit but in Soobin's case, he got the good kind of hit and you couldn't get any jealous of him but sometimes, you're just in awe and fascinated of his new good looks.
Puberty is the stage of life where your body undergoes changes and matures, it is the stage of adolescence, or the stage where your hormones just go cray cray out of nowhere. Thus, you feel emotions or feelings that you've never felt when you were a kid. An example of this is: a feeling that you and Soobin are slowly drifting apart. You often think about what your mother said before and slowly, you're believing it but at the same time, denying it.
High school. That's where you and Soobin really drifted apart. And when I say 'drifted apart', you really drifted apart. Both of you have each circle of friends and the two of you never hang out like you used to and everytime you bump into each other at the halls, none of you says hi or even bow, you just pass by each other as if you never met one another.
You noticed the changes. You notice your time hanging out with Soobin slowly fading away, you notice the distance between you both getting bigger and bigger. You wonder if Soobin noticed it too.
Your situation with Soobin is like one of those cartoon magic shows where one object disappears with just one poof! One mistake or one event or maybe even someone could cause your friendship to just poof away. What makes it worse is... both of you can't blame each other (Actually, yall blame Soobin... LATER) of what happened because it's no one's fault.
