The sound of raindrops hitting the smooth pavement is getting on your nerves. You usually love rainy days; the calmness and peace it brings, the cold air, the melodius sound of raindrops hitting the ground, and the excitement of watching raindrops having a race on your window. You loved everything about the rain.

    But today is an exception.

You woke up with a bad start: you woke up late because your little sister took your alarm clock as a joke, you slipped on the bathroom because you were rushing, you confronted your sister and got into a heated argument, and you got scolded by your mom. Thanks to your sister for making you look like you're at fault.

Now you're late to school and you just realized that you didn't bring an umbrella with you, just incase it will rain again later afternoon. That made your mood worsen than it is.

You want to scream or hurl something, mainly just a way to get the anger off your chest. You want to scream profanities that you've been holding earlier or hurl every object that you see.

But your urges to let out your anger are interrupted when someone poked you.

Before facing them, you sighed to calm yourself so that you won't cause any trouble because of your bad mood. You softened as you turn around, only to see a guy who looks about just your age and way taller than you; handing you an umbrella.

You frowned in confusion. Even though you badly need an umbrella to go to school, you have no idea why some stranger would have the courage to think of someone's needs before theirs and give up something important such as an umbrella.

"You'll need it," the guy said with a smile.

You took it with hesitation. "H-how about you? You might need it more than me." you replied.

"It's okay, I can manage." the guy answered in the most sincere and genuine tone, as if getting wet in the rain is no big deal for him.

You gave him a smile. "Thank you."

You hold the umbrella, you don't need it for now since you're standing under the waiting shed, fully protected from the rain. While you patiently wait for the bus to arrive so that you can go to school, the guy who gave you his umbrella stares at you in a good way. He's amused that you have no idea who he is.

Well, why would you? Mortals are not meant to know who are their guardian angels.

"Aren't you gonna ask who I am?" the guy spoke, a smile slowly forming on his lips. You slowly looked at him again with confusion.

You didn't know what to respond because as far as you remembered, you never encountered this man ever in your life. You're certain that he's not a classmate of yours back in elementary and certainly not one of the kids that you got into a fight with.

"Am I supposed to?" you asked, wondering if your response was an appropriate one because you clearly have no idea what to respond.

"Yeah... by default," the guy answered.

"If that's the case then... who are you?" you asked him. You felt like a kid, a kid who's blindly following her parents' orders.

"I'm Soobin," he introduced himself before adding. "Your guardian angel."

Because of that insanely unexpected response, you widened your eyes and snorted. The idea of someone introducing themselves as your guardian angel after giving you their umbrella seems like a complete bull and a silly concept.

Soobin, however, is still standing and waiting for you to calm down after fits of laughter. He expected this kind of result. He's aware that mortals are not the same as they were before; they used to believe in gods but they evolved as time passes. There are still some people left who believe in gods and then, technology and scientists with their scientific discoveries are starting to come in to people's heads until the majority didn't believed on the concept of gods.
