Bonding

Mabel's pov
I was laying in the bed with Daddy and Echo. We layed there for ages just the three of us talking. The more I talk to Echo the more I like her. She used to scare me and sometimes still does but I think she's misunderstood.
"Do you want to hang out with me today Mabel?" She asks me.
I thought about it for a second.
"Yeah okay." I smile at her.
"Hey come here you." Daddy grabs me and tickles me. I squeal and I see Echo laughing. She then joins in on tickling me.
"Stop." I laugh.
They stopped eventually and I got dressed.
While Daddy was in the bathroom I asked Echo to do my hair. I sat down at our chair and Echo began tying my hair back in two low pigtails.
"Thankyou." I tell her.
I jump off the chair grab Octavia's teddy and I run out of our room to the hall where everyone else would be.
Monty just started serving up breakfast. I eat it as quick as I can without thinking about the terrible taste. I wipe my mouth with my sleeve.
"Thankyou Monty." I jump up and run back to the room.
"Okay I'm ready Echo." I say excitedly.
She giggles at me.
"Bellamy and I need to eat first Mabel." She smiles.
"Well come on then." I grab her hand and drag her to the hall.
I sit next to her and wait for her to finish.
"What are you going to do today Mabel?" Emori asks me.
"I'm going to play with Echo today." I exclaimed.
Everyone looks at Echo funny then looks at me.
I knew that they thought that Echo was different. She wasn't different, just misunderstood.
"It's no big deal. I love Echo and she's my friend. You don't understand her." I spoke with attitude.
Everyone looked at me lost for words. Daddy wasn't there so I didn't get told off.
"It's okay Mabel." Echo assured me.
"These are our friends." Echo adds
"I know but they don't know you like I do." I tell her.
Echo smiles.
"We are all family here Mabel. You are wise beyond your years." Echo places her hand on my head gently.
"Sorry." I apologize to everyone. Echo was right we are all family here.
Echo finished her breakfast and then we went to her room where she had her swords. I had a look at them.
"They are so cool." I said mesmerized.
"I'll let you use them one day." Echo says
"Seriously?"I questioned.
"Sure if you listen properly when you train."
I was so excited.
"Can I hold it?" I ask
She takes it off her table and gives it to me and shows me how to hold it properly. It was heavier than I thought.
"You want to watch me and your Daddy train." She asks
"Yes I'd love too." I jump up.
"Careful." Echo grabbed the sword carefully.
"Whoops sorry."
We head out to hall later on and Daddy was already out there.
Echo walks up to Daddy and they both kiss each other.
"Ewwwww." I squeal
They both laugh at me.
"Mabel wants to see us fight." Echo admitted.
"Oh really. Well Mabel just so you know Echo has had more experience than me. Are you sure?" Daddy asks me.
"Yeah fight." I cheer.
"Alright then." We all head to the fight mat and they began.
"Yay!!!! Go Echo." I shout out.
Echo dropped Daddy and I laughed, but Daddy quickly got back up and dropped Echo to the ground.
"Oooooo. Good one Daddy." I laugh.
Echo won the fight. I really want to join in. It looked fun.
I continued to follow Echo around. We went back to her room. She was cleaning her sword.
"What do you know about my Mommy?" I ask
Echo stopped what she was doing and looked up at me.
"Why do you want to know?" She asks
"Well Daddy has told me only some things. I know that everyone misses her. Was she your friend?" I ask
"Not exactly." Echo mumbled.
"What do you mean?" I ask
"It's a long story Mabel and it's probably better if it comes from your Dad." Echo explained.
I paused before I spoke again.
"So you didn't like Mommy." I ask
She didn't say anything.
"Echo." I ask.
"Listen." She puts the sword down and sits on her bed next to me.
"Everything that happened on Earth was complicated. Your mother and I had different opinions so we didn't exactly get along but she saved me and everyone else so I'll always be grateful to her." She explained to me.
I was a little upset that my Mommy didn't get along with Echo. I didn't say anymore though. No one told me what really happened on Earth but I want to find out. Mommy was a very important person and they called her 'princess'. I know that I'm up in space with Daddy and his friends because of Praimfiya and Auntie Octavia is in the bunker with lots of grounders.
"Do you want to come over and draw with me?" I ask changing the subject.
"Sure." I took Echo's hand and we went to our room. We sat at the table and started drawing.
"What are you drawing?" She asks me.
"I'm drawing Earth with lots of flowers and blue butterflies." I tell her.
"What are you drawing Echo?" I ask her.
"Our Azgeda symbol." She concentrates.
"What are my two girls doing?" Daddy startled both of us standing at the door.
I get out of my chair and run up to him. He picks me up. Echo walks over as well and Daddy hugs and then kisses her.
"Yucky." I shouted.
They look at me and laugh. We all walk out to the hall and spend the rest of the afternoon and evening there playing with everyone else.
While I was sitting on the couch laughing and playing I couldn't help but think what really happened down on Earth. I had to find out.
