Into the Woods

Mabel's pov

I wake up and I'm on the floor. I try to stand up but I'm handcuffed and chained to the floor.
"Let me go." I yell out.
I begin pulling at the chains and handcuffs. It started to hurt my wrists so I stopped. The door opened and I stand up immediately and wait for them to approach me. It's Josephine but in my Moms body.
"Let me out of these." I order
"Wow, little one when did you get so tough." She smirks.
"Where's my father?" I demand
"He's around somewhere." She replies.
Her smirk on her face makes me so angry. I begin pulling at the chains again.
"Oh honey, I'd stop doing that if I were you. Your gonna be here for a long time until we figure out what to do with you." Josie laughs.
She turns around and opens the door.
"Heyy." I yell and tug at the chains.
She walked out and the door shut.
Grrrrrrrr
I stomp around the room still chained. I had to get out of here. It felt like hours and the sun was starting to set. No one came to rescue me, no one returned. I sat there trying to come up with multiple ideas on how to escape. I ended up falling asleep to an empty stomach.
I woke up to distant footsteps. I could see the room as the sun was coming up. I hear them begin to unlock the door. This was my only chance. I lay their still as I can be when one of them nudged me. I refused to move and I held my breath.
"Get up." One man orders.
I still don't respond.
He unchains me but I'm still handcuffed. He picks me up by my hair and thats when I attack. I kick him in the you know whats and stand on my feet quickly. He was hunched over so I jump on his back and place my handcuffs over his head and begin chocking him.
"Heyy." The other soldier yells out and runs towards me. I manage to kick him in the nose but despite the blood pouring out of it, he continued to try and get me off. I kick and kick him until the other soldier falls to his knees. I couldn't get my arms back over his head in time and I fall on top of him. I'm grabbed by the other soldier and he drags me to the door. I see this sudden arrow fly beside me. It didn't hit me though. It hit him in the chest. I saw blood come out of his mouth. I stood their stunned then I turn to the direction of where thenarrow came from.
"Come on. We're going." Echo spoke
I ran up to her and I hugged her.
We had to sneak back to the bar lounge where Miller and Gaia were waiting. We sat behind the bar and Echo told me what was going on.
"Not bad back their kid." She smiles
"Thankyou." I giggle
"Those lessons from me are starting to pay off." She whispers.
"I know Josephine is in my Moms body. Where's Daddy?" I ask
"Well they discovered that their may be a way to get your Moms mind back so your Dad took her back into the forest to find someone named Gabriel." She explained to me.
"Well where's Madi?" I ask
"I couldn't find her." Echo answered.
Gaia and Echo were scouting for the others but I was told to stay. I sat behind the bar thinking of what to do. I couldn't just sit here not knowing what was happening to Dad or Madi. I needed to get on the other side of the shield to find Dad. I exit out the back door and run behind a building. I look around the corner and couldn't see anyone. I took my chance and ran down the steps towards the plant fields. I kept running and didn't stop. Once I got to the edge I leaned over to catch my breath. The remnants of Daddy and Josephine's last escape were still there. I had to remember what Raven taught me on the ring. I reconnected the wires and I manage to let the shield down for only a minute for myself to get on the outside of the shield. I stood still for a moment and embraced the woods that lay in front of me. I don't know what's out there but I need to find Dad.

I'd been walking for hours and there were no signs of anybody. The woods were starting to get dark and soon I was going to be stumbling around in the dark. I'd never been in the woods alone in the dark. A cold shiver went down my back. I continued to walk but I stopped because of a noise in the distance. It sounded like an engine. It was coming from behind me. I turn around but I couldn't see anything. The noise was getting closer so I decided to run. I ran as fast as my legs could take me. I looked behind me as I run to see if I could see anyone approaching. I didn't see it coming. I fell over in the dirt. I had tripped on a root from a tree. I let out a small whimper. My knee was stinging but I didn't have time to see the damage. I got back up and continued to run. I run and run but something had soon stopped me from running. I'm pulled back to behind a tree. It wasn't something, it was someone. Their hand covered my mouth while their arm was wrapped around me. We were sitting their quietly until the noise disappeared. I turn around and I see Octavia. She takes her hand away from my mouth and releases her grip on me.
"Octavia." I breathe a sigh of relief.
We both hug each other.
"What are doing out here? How did you get here?" She asks
"It's a long story but basically Daddy is out here with Mommy but it's not really Mommy. I got told she was dead but Echo said their might be a way to get her back." I explain to Octavia.
"C'mon let's go. I have somewhere we can stay." She stands up and I follow her. We both walk hand in hand.
