Mabel on the Ring

Seeing Octavia

Mabel's pov
Mommy and Daddy told me to stay with Echo,
Monty, Harper and Madi. I threw a big tantrum about it because I only just got Mommy back and she was leaving again. Once Harper calmed me down I found a small rock in the dirt and began drawing quietly in the dirt waiting for them to come back. I hear someone sit beside me.
"What are you drawing?" She asks
I look up to see it was Madi
"I'm drawing Mommy and Daddy." I reply
"You know she spoke about you every day." Madi admitted
I stopped drawing and stared at her.
"I always knew she was alive." I told her
"She loves you so much Mabel. Your in this cave because she loves you and wants to keep you safe. That's why I'm here too." Madi smiles.
"Madi?" I ask
"Mmm."
"How do you and Mommy know each other?" I question.
Madi smirks to herself. She gets comfortable and leans against the cave wall.
"I was really scared and little and I thought I was the only one left alive. That is until I saw your Mom. She saw me and I ran away and led her into my bear traps. I was only 6 the same age you are , all by myself and I was scared. Everyone died around me so when I saw your Mom I was shocked, scared. It took me some time to get to know her and trust her but now I love her and she's family." Madi explained
"Is she like your Mom as well?" I ask
"I guess so." She looks down in the dirt.
"Well I think that means we can be sisters". I smile to Madi.
Madi looks up at me and smiles as well.
"I guess so."
The following afternoon we got word that Mommy and Daddy were in the deadzone and we were to travel to them.
It was a long and quiet ride. I sat next to Madi and I think I may have fallen asleep on her.
"We're here." Echo announces.
I jump out with Madi right behind me. I look for Mommy and then I see her short blonde hair.
"Mommy." I squeal
I ran up to her and I could see her running towards me. We impacted and she picked me up in a hug. She put me back down on the ground and hugged Madi also. I looked up at Mommy as she was playing with my hair smiling at both Madi and I. I love when she plays with my hair. That night we slept in the rover. I woke up beside Mommy. She was asleep but I could hear something coming from outside. It was like a soft moan. Without disturbing Mommy, I took the blanket off myself and I opened the door quietly. I stepped carefully and quietly so I didn't wake anyone. I approached the tent that I could hear the noise and I open the door slightly. I could see the girl with black hair that looked like Daddy. It was Aunty Octavia. She was holding her arm tightly laying on a makeshift bed. She looked like she was in pain. Instead of helping her or asking if she was alright I just stared at her. The last time I saw her I was a baby. Daddy told me about her but something is different. She seemed different.
"Hey you!" Someone called out from behind me.
I squeal and I fall inside the tent. I look up and I see Octavia looking down at me with confusion and pain across her face.
"It's okay, she's with me." Octavia ordered the guard to leave.
I scrambled to my feet and stood in front of Octavia.
"Sorry I didn't mean to bother you. I woke up and I could hear someone in pain." I tried to explain.
Octavia sat down at her bed and gestures me to sit next to her. I took a couple if small steps then stopped.
"I don't bite." She spoke
I cautiously sat beside her.
She looks down at me and then I could see tears form in her eyes.
"Are you okay?" I ask
"You look like my Mom." Octavia sniffles.
"I didn't mean to make you cry." I whisper.
Octavia chuckles slightly.
"You didn't. You have your Daddy's kindness in you though. Tell me Mabel, did Daddy talk about me on the ring?" She asks
"Yeah he told me stories about you. You're a warrior and I want to be just like you." I smiled.
"Well if you want to be a warrior then you need to work hard." She spoke.
"I can do it." I laugh
"Mabel." Someone calls out
I jump and I see Mommy standing at Octavia's door.
"It's past your bedtime." She grumbled
"I woke up and Octavia was awake so I was talking with her." I defended myself.
"Octavia should have sent you back to bed." Mommy looked at Octavia
"Relax Clarke. She's fine. We were just talking." Octavia smirked
"Still, I'm your Mom and you need to listen to me. Now I would like you to go back to bed. You can see Octavia tomorrow." Mommy ordered.
I said goodnight and made my way back to the rover with Mommy by my side.

I woke the next morning to the rover moving. I sat bolt upright looking around.
"Where are we going?" I ask
"Back to Polis." Mommy spoke while driving. I sat there quietly until we got back to Polis.
Mom dragged Madi and I to the bunker to fix up Octavia completely.
Octavia was asking Madi lots of questions but Mommy answered for Madi.
"Mom, Madi can talk." I remind her
Mommy just stared at me.
"That's exactly what I was going to say. Thankyou Mabel." Octavia smiled at me.
"So Madi you've been living with Clarke all this time?" Octavia turned to Madi.
Madi smiled and nodded.
The conversation drew back to Mommy and Octavia.
"Octavia is such a badass." I whisper into Madi's ear.
"I know. She's awesome." Madi turns and whispers in my ear.
