(George's POV)

I woke up to the pattering sound of rain and a heartbeat. Smiling to myself, I opened my eyes and lifted my head to look at the gorgeous boy whose chest I was laying on. He was so beautiful. I feel so lucky to be able to call him mine. After everything we've been through, all the ups and downs, I love being able to say that we made it. We're together and we're happy, that's all that matters to me right now.

"Stop staring, it's creepy." He croaked out, a small smile appearing on his lips.

I laughed softly and lent in closer so my lips brushed against his as I spoke. "Then stop being so beautiful."

He finally opened his eyes to look in mine, smiling a little before closing the gap, kissing me gently. I reluctantly pulled away and rolled onto my side, propping myself up on my elbow.

"So, what are the plans for today?" I asked.

"Lazy day." He grinned. Well, I definitely agreed with that. "I mean, there's not much we can do in this weather, and it's a Sunday anyways."

I looked towards the window, watching as each drop landed on the glass with a soft pitter patter. It was also very cold. So cold, I could feel the goosebumps breaking out on my skin at only the thought of getting out of bed.

"Are you cold?" He asked as if it wasn't obvious.

"No, Reece, I feel like an oven in this weather." I rolled my eyes sarcastically. "Yes, I'm cold. Are you not?"

He laughed at my sarcasm and turned on his side to face me. "First off, there's no need for the attitude. Secondly, yes, I'm freezing."

Before I could respond to that, he was already pulling the sheets off himself and climbing out of bed.

"What are you doing?" I asked incredulously.

"Saving your ass."

He walked over to the fireplace and started it up, making the room even cozier than it already was.

Then, he ran back to bed, chanting, "Cold, cold, cold!"

"Don't worry, babe, I'll keep you warm." I grinned, opening my arms.

He jumped back into bed, making everything thump, before climbing into my arms and pulling me in tight.

Something in the air felt different today. I don't know exactly what, but it was a good feeling at least. Maybe it was the weather. I quite like having the fire going on a cold day, laying under the covers with the one I love, the calming sounds of crackling and a faint storm going on outside.

"I love you." He said, pulling back from my arms and studying my face.

I smiled and lent in close, nudging my nose with his. "And I love you."

He gave me a quick peck before rolling onto his back.

"On another note; it's Lexi's birthday this week. We're having a family gathering for it, you are free on Wednesday, right?"

"Do I look like I have a life?" I laughed. "Family is my life, of course I'll be there."

He smiled and looked to the ceiling. Rolling on to my back, I did the same.
